To the New Year: the Bell of Kodemmacho
You can listen to the sound of the "Time Bell" in Jisshi Park in Kodemmacho twice a year on New Year's Eve and the anniversary of the end of the war.
Projection moping began this year, and the wall of Jushi Square in the quiet park has become gorgeous.
Tell the New Year
The "Bronze Bell at Kokumachi" was located in Kokumachi (now around Nihonbashi Muromachi) during the Edo period, and people were able to know the time with the sound of the bell. A splendid bell with a height of 170cm and a diameter of about 93cm is now located in this relocated park. When I went around 11:30 and got a bill in the order of bell towers, No.280, about 300 people were waiting for the New Year.
The land of the end of Yoshida Shoin
During the Edo period, there was a Temmacho prison and a prison, and Yoshida Shoin and other late Tokugawa shogunate soldiers also died here. It was also this bell to inform the execution of the execution. The sound of the bell that Shoin last heard now echoed the sound of prayer for the future.
