The cherries of Higashine City have arrived! "The 19th Chuo-ku Cherry Festival"
Hello. I'm an active correspondent, Hanes.
From June 15 (Sat) to 16 (Sun), the 19th Chuo-ku Cherry Festival, hosted by Higashine City, Yamagata Prefecture, was held.
"Cherry Seeds Flying Chuo-ku Tsukiji Grand Prix 2019", which started in 2011 with the aim of promoting cherries after Great East Japan Earthquake, was scheduled to be held on the 15th, but unfortunately it was canceled due to rain.
However, in addition to selling cherries at Platto Tsukiji, at Ichiba Bridge Park, the seed-flying venue, people from Higashine City distributed cherries free of charge in the rain, and transmitted the charm of Higashine City.
On the other hand, on the 16th, a cherry seed flying was held at Tsukishima Nishinakadori Shopping Street, so I participated for the first time!

Well, I've done it!
This is the state of the seed skipping venue before the reception starts (12:30).
There were already about 100 participants with family members in line.
According to the story of those who participated last year, this year was blessed with the weather and it was a great success.
Participants waiting for the reception in the hot weather were given a fan and Tanto-kun candy with the fruit tree kingdom Higashine image character "Tant-kun" drawn from Higashine City.♪
At the reception, you will receive this tournament reception slip, a cup with 5 cherries for seed skipping, and a cherries pack for the participation prize.
After filling out the necessary information on the tournament reception slip, it will be lined up in the row of seed skipping, but what I am worried about is the tournament record.
Results confirmed by interest level...Although the rolling part is included in the distance, the general part is 20m5cm, the ladies' part is 14m68cm, and the children's part is 12m11cm, which is amazing flying distance!
Even the average high school girl who throws a physical strength test hand (soft) ball is about 15m.
There is no way to know how to fly so much!
The first place so far is from Yamagata and Miyagi prefectures, so it is likely to be a tough battle for participants from Chuo-ku.
Simulation of how species fly in the brain while lined up in rows.
"Is it better to go up and fly to draw an arc?" While thinking about it, the tournament starts!
Because the headwind was blowing, my turn turned in a situation where even men could hardly exceed 10m.
As a result of flying as simulated...
I didn't fly 3 meters (laughs).
It was somewhat disappointing that the ladies' section was half of the prescribed distance of 6m, but I was able to participate happily.
It seems easy to fly seeds at first glance, but it is surprisingly difficult to fly far!
After that, I looked into the specialty product sales booth and remembered Higashine City in January and the snow festival held at Akatsuki Park in February.
I think the cherries I received this time will be chilled and delicious.
It is said that you can enjoy picking open-air cherries in Higashine City from peaking in June to early July.
It's just a good time now, huh?
Next, I would like to visit Higashine City at the time of cherries picking and see the willows in Ginza with green leaves.
