It is derived from the name of Nagamasu Oda (Yurakusai Urakusai), the younger brother of Nobunaga Oda and famous as a tea master. In 1603 (Keicho 8), when Ieyasu Tokugawa opened the Edo Shogunate as a conquering general, Yurakusai was given land and mansions around Sukiyabashi Gomon, and called this area "Yuuraku Hara Urakuhara". Sukiya Bridge is a bridge built over the outer moat of Edo Castle in 1629 (Kanei 6). "Sukiya" means a tea room in the sense of "a house made according to your preference", and the etymology of Sukiyabashi comes from "Yurakusai's tea room". The name of this bridge remains at the Sukiyabashi intersection and Sukiyabashi Park.

Heading toward the Imperial Hotel in front of Ginza Miyuki Dori Yasuaki Elementary School, there is an elevated expressway, followed by a JR elevated train.
