Part 2 of HARUMI FLAG begins slowly
~ HARUMI FLAG Exploration ~
Hello, it's "Take-chan". I'm glad that there were two triple holidays in February. On the last day of the first three-day holiday, I took a walk with "HARUMI FLAG", which started slowly. Following the first part "~ Harumi 5-chome Terminal ~", we will explore the city of "HARUMI FLAG". As you may know, this place is the site of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games Village. A place where athletes from around the world actually stayed during the midsummer tournament in 2021. I'm deeply moved.
A city with lots of greenery
When you step into "HARUMI FLAG", you will be surprised at the amount of green. It seems that the trees are planted mainly in the local native species, such as "Japanese snowbell", "Mochinoki" and "Hakoneatsugi". "They are in the environment and the animals are pleased," he explained.
A playground for children
"HARUMI FLAG" has many playground equipment for children to play, and it seems that a city that is friendly not only to adults but also to children is created. A little boy was playing with his dad.
Chuo Ward Harumi Nishi Elementary School and Harumi Nishi Junior High School opened in April.
Chuo-ku Harumi Nishi Elementary School and Harumi Nishi Junior High School will open in April with a schoolyard of about 6,000 square meters of artificial turf. A splendid building on the first basement floor and 5 floors above ground, a gymnasium, a rooftop playground, and a small and medium common indoor pool (8 courses) are about to be completed. The library shared by elementary and junior high schools is an environment where elementary school students can also touch junior high school books, and it seems to be a space for reading in more than 20,000 books.
"LaLa Terrace HARUMI FLAG" grand opening on March 1
LaLa Terrace HARUMI FLAG, a commercial facility in the HARUMI FLAG area, will open its grand on March 1st. In the facility, 40 stores will be opened, including the restaurant "TEAM JAPAN 2020 VILLAGE Cafe & Restaurant CENTRALE", which uses GAP certified ingredients, which was also provided at the Tokyo 2020 Games Athlete Village, and supermarkets. As a community-based facility, we aim to realize a comfortable lifestyle in the HARUMI FLAG area.
"HARUMI FLAG" which enjoys a walk
For the first time this time, I explored the city of "HARUMI FLAG" from "Harumi 5-chome Terminal". What I felt again was that the whole city is flat and barrier-free. Wheelchairs also saw, but I felt that it was a city where people could move smoothly. The full-fledged city of "HARUMI FLAG" is likely to be a little ahead, but about 12,000 new central residents are expected to be born. According to the Basic Resident Register of Chuo-ku, the population is about 200,000 as of February 2024, but if you include those who come to "HARUMI FLAG" and those who come to the new Tawaman in the Tsukishima and Kachidoki districts, the population is likely to increase steadily. In 1997 after the collapse of the bubble economy, the population decreased to 72,090, so it can be said that it is a terrible V-shaped recovery. "Take-chan" will continue to follow the changes in this city.
