Until July 10, silver bonboniere exhibition by the Imperial Family of Miyamoto Shoko
In Ginza 1-chome, there is a shop of Miyamoto Shoko, a specialty store of silver products that has been in business for 1880. The address is the first floor of Yoei Ginza 2nd Building 1-9-7 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. (It is the building on the north side of the Okuno Building.)
For a long time, I've been looking at wonderful silver products through the window glass. From May 10th to July 10th (Wednesday), the "Imperial Silver Bonbonière Exhibition" is being held. (Closed on Sunday and public holidays)
The explanation of the leaflet I received is as follows.
"Bombonierre is a small box that contains sugar confections. Since the Meiji era, the Imperial Family and the Imperial Family have a tradition of putting gold flat sugar in elaborate bonbonière and serving as a gift during the special occasion. Most of them are made of silver, and we, Miyamoto Shoko, have been ordered many times since the Meiji era, and have delivered various Bonbonières. At this exhibition, you can see 40 silver bonbonieles, including our own products. Please take a look at the items where you can feel the advanced metalworking techniques and delicate aesthetic sense of Japanese craftsmen in every corner.
Inside the store, silver forks for sweets and silver toothpicks are also sold.
