Hello, my name is Hanes.
The first three months of 2024 went, fled, left, and quickly reached the new year.
Maybe some people have moved to Chuo-ku on the occasion of going to school, finding a job, or relocating?
Therefore, this time, I would like to introduce the antenna shop that is nice to the people of Tokyo and the events held there while touching on the history and charm of Chuo-ku again.

1. Not changed in Edo or Reiwa! Characteristics of Chuo-ku

The Edo period. Nihonbashi, now located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, became the starting point of the five highways and became a symbol of the center of Japan and eventually the prosperity of Edo.
In the Meiji era, the introduction of technologies from Western countries, which had been modernized due to the Industrial Revolution, spurred infrastructure development starting in Tokyo and surrounding cities, and Nihonbashi became the starting point for national roads.
A copy of the "Japan Road Original Mark" indicating that can be seen at the "Gen Mark Plaza" in northwestern Nihonbashi.

Furthermore, looking at people-to-people exchanges, the Dutch trading director, who had been allowed to trade on Dejima in Nagasaki during the Edo period under the isolation policy, was to visit Edo once a year and have an audience with the generals. Was.
At that time, the site of Nagasakiya in Nihonbashi Muromachi was designated as a place to stay for Shokan Choichi, including doctors.
So scholars, including Genpaku Sugita and Gennai Hiraga, who contributed to the subsequent development of Japan, visited Nagasakiya to deepen exchanges with the group to learn the latest medicine, astronomy, and geography.

Even now, Nihonbashi has become a place where people, goods and things gather and interact with each other from Japan and eventually from all over the world.
On the contrary, after the war, the area was expanded to the entire Chuo-ku with Yaesu, Ginza, Tsukiji, Harumi, etc., connecting with domestic and foreign cities, and exchanges across borders have become even more active.

2. A must-see for those who have come to Tokyo! The charm of Chuo-ku

It has been six years since I moved to Chuo-ku.
When asked, "What is the charm of Chuo-ku?", It is difficult to put them in a single word, but if you focus on the charm you want to tell to those who have moved to Chuo-ku or nearby in the new fiscal year, "It's a relieved and livable city where you can feel the connection with the locals or various parts of Japan."

This is because PR events are held by local governments in various parts of Japan, including Higashine City, Yamagata Prefecture, which is a friendship city in the city, and you can purchase local products from all over Japan while staying in the city and get tourist pamphlets. Because there are many antenna shops and antenna restaurants that you can do.

There may be some local shops for everyone who sees this article!
Antenna shops and antenna restaurants are attractive places where you can experience the culture of unfamiliar land, but it is also a `` hometown of Tokyo '' where you can easily drop in when you miss the taste of your hometown during your new life. is.

3. Let's meet the creator! Recommended event of antenna shop

As mentioned above, these antenna shops sell local products and provide information.
It's fun to stop by the shop and pick up food and drinks you haven't tasted yet, and traditional crafts you've seen for the first time.
But did you know that there are many attractive events that are held with guests from each prefecture?
On the website of each antenna shop, you can get information such as talk events where you can listen directly to stories from local creators, events where you can taste and taste before purchasing, workshops where you can try making traditional crafts, etc. Please check it out.

I myself found an event that I was very interested in the other day.
That is the "496 Winery 6th Anniversary &" Wind Blowing on Vinyard "Publishing Presentation" to be held at Ginza NAGANO's 2nd floor event space from 15:00 to 17:00 on April 29 (Mon)!

The 496 winery, who hosts this event, is a winery run by a couple in Tomi City, Nagano Prefecture.
At the Vinyard in Yaehara in the city, they are particular about analog and the use of pesticides and chemical pesticides, sometimes harmonize well while witnessing the harshness of nature, and carefully grow wine grapes. You.

Some of you may have heard the name of the winery and thought of a French bicycle (cyclo).
In fact, the owner of this winery is a former professional cycling athlete who has set a world record for the Masters category!
Since the start in the world of wine, the passion that had been pouring into bicycles has been generously poured into winemaking.

(The inside of the winery: bicycle frames, items with a bicycle motif, calendars at the time when the owner's active era were displayed, etc.)

As I've mentioned several times so far, I love cycling and cycling.
That's why I've been paying attention to this winery about five years ago, contacting me several times, and trying to taste the wine filled with passion.
However, when traveling, it is basically a bicycle trip, so it is difficult to taste it, and this time the long-awaited opportunity!

496 Winery's wine was decorated on the cover of the November 2023 issue of the Shinkansen in-vehicle service magazine "Tranver", published by JR East, and was adopted at the Tokyo American Club wine shop, and appeared in the manga "Marage ~ The Last Chapter of God ~" It is also characterized by no lack of topics.
And since the wine itself will be sold at a winery or online shop, this event is perfect for tasting and finding the brand you care about.

On the other hand, this event should be able to enjoy enough even if you are not very good at alcohol (I myself, I am not very good at alcohol).
If you like cycling and are worried about why a former professional bicycle player became a wine brewer, and are interested in the story of human entertainment spun by the owner's booked wine and bicycle to be released on April 15, Why don't you visit the event?
(This novel has not been released yet, so I haven't read a single page myself, but it's interesting just to read the cover, back cover, and introduction text that imitates the wine label!)

This event requires advance reservation, and there is no ticket sales on the day.
If you are interested, don't forget to book a ticket!

4. Yeah

As the times changed from Edo to Reiwa, the cityscape of Chuo-ku has undergone a major transformation.
However, even today, it is still a place where people, things, and things gather.
And, like Nagasakiya in the Edo period, in modern times, you can interact with creators who are active in various parts of Japan, from long-established people to those with interesting backgrounds at antenna shops.
Until now, I used the antenna shop only for shopping, but from now on, I decided to participate in events inviting such guests.

In writing this article, we received the cooperation of the person in charge of Ginza NAGANO and Mrs. Iijima of 496 Vinyard. Thank you very much for your busy schedule.
