Sumida River Seawall in Urara in Spring

Yoshino cherry tree has finally begun to bloom. Shinkawa Park, one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in Chuo-ku, is a sightseeing spot where you can enjoy viewing the vast surface of the Sumida River, Eitai Bridge, Chuo-ohashi Bridge, and tower apartments in the Tsukuda area together.
This park is located above the embankment of the Sumida River, and this dike is a seawall that protects the city from storm surges and is a wide Super dike. The purpose of Super dike in rivers managed by Tokyo Metropolitan Government is to improve earthquake resistance and hydrophilicity. Incidentally, the Super dike of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is to ensure more safety and improve earthquake resistance than expected (some differences between the capital and the country).
The general embankment of the Sumida River often looks like a steep wall made of concrete, so Super dike is an extremely easy-to-use space. Isn't it one way to enjoy thinking about disaster prevention and community development while watching cherry blossoms?
