Tokyo Station was opened in the Taisho era as a central station representing the capital city. Its newness also appears in the addition of a hotel at the station, as it is in West. Tokyo Station Hotel, the gateway to the Imperial Capital, which was born the year after the opening of Tokyo Station, was designed by Kingo Tatsuno, who was designed by the Bank of Japan, to entertain guests from around the world.
