My name is "Jan Jooss Ten"

Nice to meet you, everyone. I'm "Jan Jooss Ten." You are much older than you are. Why was Japan born in the Netherlands in 1556 during the Warring States period?

In 1598, I started sailing from Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on the East India Company Leafde. Go south through the Atlantic Ocean to Africa. After that, I crossed the Magellan Strait in South America and headed for the Orient via Hawaii, but I encountered a terrible storm and drifted ashore to Kyushu in 1600.

At first, I was treated like a pirate, but I was able to meet Ieyasu Tokugawa and hired him as an interpreter. After that, I lived in a mansion near Wadakuramon in Edo Castle.

Speaking of which, Englishman William Adams (Anjin Miura) was also on board the same ship. Anjin lived near the Nihonbashi Fish Bank (currently near Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi). By the way, both my wife and Anjin's wife are Japanese.

That's why this time, "Jan Jooss Ten" appeared beyond space and time. The name "Jan Jooss Ten" comes from the origin of "Yaesu". You can meet "Jan Jooss Ten" at Chika Yae (Yaesu Underground Shopping Center)!
