The sweets of the early summer feature "Ayu"-Ningyocho edition-

Hi, I'm a good friend.
Nowadays, it gets hotter day by day, the humidity is getting higher, and I feel the approaching summer ...

From around June, sweets from "Ayu" will be lined up at many Japanese confectionery stores.
These sweets are often sold under the names of "Wakayu", "Climbing Ayu", and "Wakkayu".
It is wrapped in dough like castella, wrapped in fertilizer (Gyuhi) and baked sweetfish profile.
Every year, I am attracted to the seasonal feeling of early summer and the cute sweetfish face, and I collect and walk around "ayu" from various shops.

This time, I would like to introduce three types of "Ayu" that can be purchased in the Ningyocho area.

Part 1 "Judo"'s "Katsura Ayu"

Part 1 "Judo"'s "Katsura Ayu"'s early summer feature "Ayu" sweets collected-Ningyocho edition-

The first thing I would like to introduce is "Katsura New Year Fish" by "Juya" along Ningyocho Street.
Speaking of Juya, "Golden Potato" is famous, but we also have seasonal sweets.

One of them is "Katsura Year Fish". It seems that they read "wig ayu" in this kanji.
It's a naming that reminds you of Katsuragawa in Kyoto, just because Mr. Judo of "Kyoto Confectionery".
The bamboo leaf-shaped sheet packed together gives you a refreshing feeling.

Well, what is the content?
It's a bit painful, but I cut the sweetfish in the middle and looked at the cross section.
Mr. Judo's "Katsura Year Fish" is made of a royal road with a fluffy castella dough wrapped with mochimochi fertilizer.

*Sales period
It is highly likely that you will have "Katsura Year Fish" until around July.

Part 2 “Ayu” of “Mihara Domoto”

Part 2 "Mihara Domoto"'s "Ayu" early summer feature "Ayu" sweets collected-Ningyocho edition-

Next, I would like to introduce "Ayu" from "Mihara Domoto" at the corner of the Suitengu-mae intersection.

Compared to Judo's "Katsura Year Fish", you can see that the curve of the body of the sweetfish and the drawn Dy Tyr are slightly different.
Seeing the differences in design depending on the store is one of the pleasures of "Ayu" Atsume.

Let's take a look at the contents in the same way.
It may be difficult to understand in the photo, but I think you can see that the contents of the fertilizer are mixed with green grains.
In fact, this is a blue laver. This is the biggest feature of "Ayu" by Mihara Domoto.

It is not easy for Japanese sweets to contain blue seaweed, so I was surprised when I ate it for the first time, but this blue seaweed has a very good flavor.

*Sales period
During the summer, until mid-August, it is highly likely that Ayu will be placed.

No. 3 "Climbing Ayu" by Mr. Nobudo Shigemori

Part 3 "Shigemori Eishindo"'s "Climbing Ayu" The sweets of the early summer feature "Ayu"-Ningyocho edition-

Finally, I would like to introduce "Climbing Ayu" from "Shigemori Eishindo" opposite Ningyocho-dori from Mihara Domoto store.
Speaking of Shigemori Eishindo, Ningyocho specialties such as "Shigemori's Ningyo-yaki" and "Zeitaku Senbei" are famous.

Actually, this time, "Katsura New Year Fish" and "Ayu" have been researched in advance, and I was planning to make an article introducing these two, but after stopping by Mihara Domoto, I look into the storefront of Shigemori Eido When you look at it, the word "climbing sweetfish" is there.…! I decided to buy it soon.

Shindo Shigemori's "Climbing Ayu" does not have a baked pattern unlike "Katsura Year Fish" or "Ayu", but the shape of Ayu is expressed in the shade.

Looking at the contents, it is not a fertilizer, but a lot of white bean paste.
In fact, this "climbing sweetfish" is a variation of doll ware unlike general sweetfish sweets.
Shigemori Eishindo has a lineup of Koshian's "Doll Yaki", Tsubuan's "Tsuboyaki", Shiraan's "Climbing Ayu", and "Casterrayaki" without bean. It was one of them.

*Sales period
As mentioned above, it is a variation of puppet ware, so it is not positioned as a seasonal snack, but is sold throughout the year.
