Kusaichi Onito, Summer Poetry

It is said that the kanji character "Onito" is applied because it was decorated as a substitute for Japanese lantern that the ancestors put on when they return to Obon.

There is a popular belief that "If you swallow the fruit of the hozuki with water, adults will cut the tantrum and children will leave the insect."

Hozuki is useful for ornamental use and has been prized as one of the herbal medicines.

Also, since ancient times, red has been regarded as a warding off evil, evil, and even a color that is not good at lightning, making it a summer lucky items.

In the city that deals with offering and ornaments used for Obon events, hozuki line up with Ogara, rather Makomo.
