Learn about the roots of Hie-jinja Shrine in the wake of the Sanno Festival (Kawagoe no Maki)

The Sanno Festival in 2024 was held from June 7 to 17. In Chuo-ku, there were excitement every day at the Shinko Festival on the 7th, the carrying of miniature shrines on the 8th, and the Shimomachi Association imperial procession on the 9th. In the middle of Tokyo, I was impressed to see so many people were throwing their full power into the festival with a common thought.
Currently, Hie-jinja Shrine is located in Akasaka (address is Nagatacho), and the auxiliary shrine Nihonbashi Hie-jinja Shrine is located in Kayabacho, Chuo-ku.
According to the homepage of Nihonbashi Hie-jinja Shrine, "Nihonbashi Hie-jinja Shrine began with portable shrine after Ieyasu Tokugawa entered Edo Castle in 1590 (1590) and revered Hiresting place of portable shrines Oga. The old map of the Edo period at my hand, "Shinzoe Edonozu" (1657, Meiji 3), clearly shows "Sanno resting place of portable shrines" here.
According to its website, Hie-jinja Shrine in Akasaka says, "Our company enshrines Sanno-gu Shrine as the guardian angel of the ancestor patron and Edo township of Musashino pioneering Musashino, and in 1478 (1478), Michio Ota recommended Kawagoe Sannosha as a god of protection in Edo Castle." This Kawagoe Sannosha is Hie-jinja Shrine (a nationally designated important cultural property) located in front of the gate of Kita-in, a large temple in Kawagoe City. During the daytime on a sunny holiday, I went to Kawagoe. Although it is a very small precincts compared to Hie-jinja Shrine in Akasaka, it had a great presence that could not be said because it was a company that continued with Kita-in, which had a deep connection with the Tokugawa family.
It is located in a quiet residential area, about a 15-minute walk from Honkawagoe Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line. Everyone involved in the shrine parishioner area of Hie-jinja Shrine in Akasaka, please go to Kawagoe if you have time!
Next, I would like to visit the roots of this shrine.
