Money Museum special exhibition and No. 1 new bill

A new banknote was issued on July 3rd. special exhibition's "New Bank of Japan Ticket 2024: Takumi's Skills and Design" is being held at the Money Museum in Nihonbashi Honishi-cho.
In addition to appreciating the design of the new bill, which will be renewed for the first time in 20 years, you can experience the latest forgery prevention technology such as the world's first "3D hologram" and the "high-definition plowing" with a fine background. I am once again amazed at the skill of Japanese banknotes.

In the permanent exhibition, you can learn the history of money (money) from the ancient coin "Wado Kaichin" to Edo, Meiji, and the present day. You can experience the real size of large-sized gold coins made by Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Ieyasu Tokugawa as well as the weight of a thousand boxes, as well as various Bank of Japan tickets issued to Meiji period.

There's also a lot of pamphlets.

No. 1 new bill

At the Money Museum, 10,000 yen bills, 5,000 yen bills, and 1,000 yen bills of the new bill "AA00001AA" with the number one number is displayed. Unfortunately, I can't shoot.

In issuing new bills, the Bank presents new bills with young notes to public organizations that are closely related to bills as part of public relations, and all bills with No. 1 are presented to the Money Museum.

This photo shows the number 2 10,000 yen bill on display at the Shibusawa Museum of the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Photography was OK.
The second of the new 10,000 yen bill is donated to the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce, the third is JR East, the fifth is the Eiichi Shibusawa Memorial Foundation, and the sixth is Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture. (Source released by the Bank of Japan on July 3, 2024)
