Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics: Children's Handmade Flag

The Olympic Games will be held in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11.

At the entrance march of the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics held in Seine on the 26th, the national flag of each Japanese team was made by children in Chuo-ku.

Silk fabric was made from raw silkworm silk grown in elementary schools, kindergartens and nursery schools in Chuo-ku. It was sewed by children of young, elementary and junior high school students to make handmade flags of the Hinomaru (550), the French flag (600), and the UAE flag (50).

The children worked hard to make irons and hand-sew because the flag material was silk.
In addition, cute messages such as "I'm going to work together," "Please get a kin medal," and "I want to be an Olympic senshu" are also written on the place where the flag is held.

At the opening ceremony, please pay attention to the Hinomaru held by the Japanese team.
