2024 Refreshing "white flower" salsbergii

 2024 Refreshing airside space

The white white color of salsberg planted on the Sumida River Tsukishima Green Road, which spreads downstream from Tsukuda-ohashi Bridge over the Sumida River, shines in the blue sky. From the 26th to 31st at the end of July, the highest temperature in the city center recorded a hot day for six consecutive days, creating a refreshing feeling in the waterside space as severe heat continues. Salsberg is deciduous Takagi of the loosestrife family native to southern China. The trunk skin is pale brown, the traces that have been peeled off in some places are white, the shading pattern mixed with shades, and the Japanese name Salsberg is said to have been named for the metaphor that the bark is smooth enough to slide down even for a monkey who is good climbing a tree. A conical inflorescence is attached to the tip of the branch, buds open one after another after scattering, the flowering period lasts 2-3 months, also known as "crape myrtle", but the flower color is dark peach, pale peach, red, white, purple, and compound color. It is one of the precious flowers and trees that are resistant to strong sunlight and dryness and color midsummer. There are six petals shrunk like frills, a thin pattern at the base, and a unique shape similar to a fan. The English name Crape myrtle is derived from the fact that the petals are shrinking like crepe (crape).
