The pedestrian paradise in Tokyo was held for the first time in Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Asakusa in August 1970, and since then in Ginza, between Ginza 1-chome intersection and Ginza 8-chome intersection on Ginza Street.·Sunday·It has been held on holidays, but in order to commemorate the start of this pedestrian paradise and to encourage visitors to enjoy the summer day, the event called "Holiday Promenade" has been held in August every year. This is the first time in 2007 to walk around the city wearing a yukata, a summer tradition, and enjoy the temporary coolness. The annual event "The 55th Holiday Promenade Yukata Ginbura 2024", which was reopened on a conventional scale for the first time in four years last year after the COVID-19 pandemic, was held on August 3 from 12:00 to 21:00, closing the vehicle on Chuo-dori. Visitors in yukata and kimono can receive various benefits such as drink services and novelty gifts at about 100 stores that have stores in Ginza that participate as "hospitality stores". In order to feel the coolness, various projects have been developed, including the display of "icles with posters" at 1-chome, 7-chome, and 8-chome, and simultaneous events for nearby commercial facilities have been organized. Among them, the most popular is the "Ginza Ryofu Plan," in which participants water all at once at 16:00, 16:30, and 17:00, with the signal of drums at two locations, 2-chome and 5-chome. The road surface is cooled, a cool breeze blows through the venue, creating a pleasant moment.
