Nihonbashi River illusion by Nihonbashi Library
From June 28 (Fri) to July 24 (Wed), 2019, a photo exhibition "Nihonbashi River Ingage" by photographer "Misaho Inoue" will be held at the exhibition corner on the 7th floor of the "Nihonbashi Library in Chuo Ward". I am holding it. The event is open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on Saturday, and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday and public holidays. Admission is free and there are no closed days during the period. The photo above shows the whole view of the photo exhibition.
Misaho Inoue (born in Aso, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture in 1937) uses the light and shadow reflected on the river surface as a fantasy, and holds solo exhibitions such as fluids on the theme of it in various places, and the photo book "Flood Nihonbashi River" was published by Shogakukan Square in 2002. At first glance, the Nihonbashi River looks like water with just a black river flowing, but a mysterious view that cannot be seen by humans can be seen through the lens of the camera. Please take a look at the mysterious scenery of the Nihonbashi River in a moment that cannot be captured by the naked eye, the world of 1/1000 created by light and surface. The photo above is a part of it.
In addition, valuable photographs of Nihonbashi are also exhibited, such as Nihonbashi when it was a wooden bridge in Meiji 5 (1872), Nihonbashi in 1935, 1957, and the Metropolitan Expressway under construction in Nihonbashi. Please also see here.
