Fire Prevention Poster, Japan Fire Prevention Campaign
Explanation of work
Japan's fire prevention campaign is said to have originated from "Fire Prevention Day", a fire prevention campaign that began in the United States in 1911 (Meiji 44).
In Japan, in the latter half of the Meiji era, we distributed leaflets of "Beware of Fire" and held fire prevention lectures to raise alertness, but in 1926 (Daisho 15), Following the United States, a proposal has been made to set up a “fire prevention day” nationwide. (Omitted)
In 1930 (Showa 5), the Dainippon Fire Association conducted the first fire prevention campaign in the two prefectures of the Kinki region. In addition to training on fire prevention and publicity on radio, lectures on fire prevention at elementary schools, publicity on the streets and distribution of flyers, and firefighting exercises by fire department staff were held in various places.
