I asked the regulars! We will teach you how to enjoy Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store "France Exhibition 2024"!
"France Exhibition 2024" has started at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store! "France Exhibition" is a department store event that I look forward to every year, where many delicious, cute, and wonderful things are gathered not only from Japan but also from local France.
This event will be held for two weeks from September 25 (Wednesday) to October 7 (Monday), 2024 (October 1 due to the replacement date of PART 1 and 2, and September 25 is a special invitation date for admission only to MIM card members). I went quickly on the first day.
The "France Exhibition" will be held at the venue on the 7th floor of the main building. Foods occupy about half the space of the large venue. There is a gourmet country, France, and delicious bread, cakes and ingredients are lined up. This time, the author focused on "bread" and "sosai". I have a small child in my house, so I can't go to a very fashionable French restaurant. Therefore, we plan to purchase delicious bread and soup dishes at the "French Exhibition" and enjoy the "house restaurant".
There are a number of shops in the venue that sell attractive soups such as patties, kish and meat dishes, and I'm worried about which one to use. In such a case, I would like to recommend using the Nihonbashi Garden on the roof of the main building as an eat-in space. On the rooftop, which is just up the stairs from the venue, chairs and tables are lined up in a pleasant space with water and greenery, so you can freely eat what you buy. At the "French Exhibition", quish and Madeleine baked in the venue are sold. It is recommended to use the rooftop garden to enjoy freshly made and baked freshly! I purchased the appetizers of the store I was interested in one by one, and sampled and lunch on the rooftop.
Around me, like the author, there were people who received products purchased at the French exhibition. We interviewed how to enjoy each "French exhibition". I would like to introduce three methods that I thought "I see", so if you are going to the French exhibition, please refer to it.
Bring a shoulder bag and a cold bag (female in their 50s)
At the "French Exhibition", you can put the purchased items in Mitsukoshi paper bags free of charge if you wish. However, as shopping increases, both hands are blocked, making it difficult to pick up and see the product. Therefore, the recommendation is "bring an eco bag that can be shouldered". In addition, you can get a cooling agent at the time of purchase, but "If you have a cold bag, you can feel safe on hot days or when you have time to return home." Neither is absolutely necessary, but I recommend it because it is convenient to have it.
Picnic set (women in their 20s, women in their 40s, etc.)
Some of the people eating in the rooftop garden were bringing spoons and forks. "Because some shops don't have forks." Some can be eaten directly by hand, such as bread and Madeleine, but those that are difficult to eat, such as cakes, can be convenient if they have a spoon or fork. Someone said, "I will always bring dishes and knives every time." "I need a knife to share with my friends." Certainly, if you cut and share it, you can eat all kinds of things. I thought this was a good idea. I would also like to swear next time.
If you do not line up early in the morning, aim for the afternoon (man in his 30s)
A French exhibition with a long line in popular shops. Some people purchased multiple limited sweets, so I asked them how to capture them. "If you have anything you want, I'll line up early in the morning." Unexplored products in Japan tend to sell out quickly, so when you want those products, it is better to line up early. The French exhibition opens at 10:00, but MIM Card Plus members have priority admission acceptance until 9:30 before opening time only for themselves. (Please check the website of the head office for details.) It is also a good idea to use the priority admission reception desk.
"In popular shops, the lines may be shorter after noon. There are times when I'm looking for it." He does not dare to line up when the line is long, but he does not finish shopping at other stores first and then visits again. "Even in the afternoon, there are some products left," I heard a regular saying.
I also had a bakery who gave up because the line was long in the morning, so when I visited again, the line was a little shorter. However, on the other hand, some stores have longer lines than in the morning, so it may depend on the timing. In any case, it is worth not giving up at once, but changing the time and visiting again.
After that, I ate an appetizer for dinner and bought the main dish of the shop I liked. I got a baguette of a bakery that I couldn't go to buy easily and went home. The family is delighted with the menu that does not appear on the regular dining table. I'm happy to be able to taste delicious French at home while thinking about France.
"France Exhibition 2024" is being held from October 2nd. I would like to visit Part 2 again with reference to the advice I gave me this time.
Thank you to everyone who answered the interview.
