Chuo-ku at that time to know on an anniversary-end of July-

Hello. I'm the active correspondent Hanes!
Humidity days continue, but will everyone change?
As of July 20, the rainy season has not yet begun, and "compared to this time last year."...I think there are times when I compare it with the past.
This time, as an extension, I examined what events had happened in Chuo-ku in the past around this time in July.
Among them, as the end of July, we will cover "Humburger Day" on July 20 and "Ghost Day" on July 26. ^^

Hamburger's Day

Have you ever heard that July 20 is the anniversary of "Hamburger's Day"?
This anniversary was established by McDonald's Japan in 1996.
Back on this day of 1971, McDonald's Japan's memorable first store opened on the first floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi.
However, behind the scenes of the brilliant opening ceremony, there was a hard time because I set up a store in Ginza Mitsukoshi.

39 hours - this was the time allowed to build the first McDonald's store in Japan.
The construction was completed from 18:00, when Mitsukoshi's Sunday business ends, until 9:00 on Tuesday, when the next business begins.
He performed a simulation of actually building and dismantling a store three times, and seemed to have started production in Mitsukoshi.

On the day of the opening, many people came when authentic hamburgers were eaten and formed a large line.
McDonald's potatoes and shakes, which no one knows now, are also products that are unfamiliar to the people of the time and are said to have been very fresh.
In the video below, you can also see how it was opened.

In Ginza, you can enjoy overseas gourmet food, and there are many overseas brand stores.
However, these features apply to other cities in Japan and overseas, so it may be difficult for tourists visiting Japan to leave an impression on what kind of place Ginza is.
In such a case, why don't you talk about McDonald's and Starbucks (the first store is Ginza Matsuya-dori store, which opened on August 2, 1996) that they will be familiar with?
If you introduce that both first stores are located in Ginza, I think that it will tell you how Ginza is the city of Tokyo, where it quickly incorporated overseas trends.♪

The Day of Ghost

Then it is "Ghost Day".
This was set up to commemorate the premiere of "Tokaido Yotsuya Kaidan" (commonly known as "Yotsuya Kaidan") by the fourth generation Nanboku Tsuruya at Nakamuraza on July 26, 1825. .
(You can read the outline of the work at the link above.)

Kikugoro Onoe, the third generation of the rock, became a reputation for playing the leading role, and the number of times he served rock in his lifetime was nine, and the role of the rock became the Onoue family's home art. .
Also, when the townspeople's culture flourished, people were looking for novelty.
One of the features of this "Yotsuya Kaidan" is that it includes various keren-flavored devices and productions.

There is also a place related to such rocks in Chuo-ku.
That is Oiwa Inari Tamiya Shrine (2-25-11 Shinkawa, Chuo-ku).

There is also Oiwa Inari Tamiya Shrine in Yotsuya, but from Sadanji Ichikawa, who was good at "Yotsuya Kaidan" at the time, "It's too far to go to Yotsuya every time. I would like you to move to a playhouse such as Shintomiza by all means. "

(I can see the depth of the relationship with Yotsuya Oiwa Inari Tamiya Shrine.)

So when the shrine hall disappeared in the fire of Yotsuya Samoncho in 1879, he moved to the site of the Tamiya family.
That's the beginning of the shrine I introduced this time.

(Badoseki, which is also familiar with the Chuo-ku Tourism Test)

There is Bado stone (made of granite, 127cm) on the premises, and you can see the Tamiya family's crest, Maruishi of Tomoe Yin Yang comma-shaped bead, flower-shaped frames and jewels.
This was dedicated by Udanji Ichikawa, the fourth generation who played the rock at Namikaza in Osaka, and is the oldest bado stone existing in Chuo-ku.
There is also a stone torii gate built in 1897, so be sure to check it out when you visit!
