A must-see for building lovers! Exhibition @ Book Forest Chuo
From October 25 (Fri) to December 26 (Thursday), 2024, a special exhibition "From the Survey of Modern Buildings in Chuo-ku" is being held at gallery space, a local museum on the second floor of the Honnomori Chuou.
Chuo-ku has conducted a “Chuo-ku Modern Building Survey” for three years since 2011. We independently surveyed buildings in the ward built from the Meiji era to 1965, and selected 100 items with particularly valuable value. According to subsequent continuous surveys, some have been demolished due to aging, but they have remained unchanged and are still in use, or are still being demolished but preserved and utilized in a new form. There seems to be something. I found that the approach that inherits Historic buildings is diverse.
Interlocking events such as Gallery Talk (November 10), Autumn Cultural Properties Tour (November 24), and Special Screening "Survey of Modern Buildings in Chuo-ku Talked with Recorded Videos" (November 29) have already been completed, but during the period until December 26 (Thursday), you can watch the Chuo-ku Modern Building Survey ongallery space's Monitor. The buildings that have been featured are "Okuno Building", "Fuku Club Miyawaki Bettei (formerly Inya)," "Teppanyaki Kurosawa (formerly Nakamura Family Residence)," "Central Bank Capsule Tower Building", and "Nisshokan". The thoughts and ideas spoken by users are very interesting, and I think it is worth visiting the venue just by watching this video (about 30 minutes in total).
