Tsutaya "Koshodo" is revived! Ichimosu Tagen Kimono Wholesale Museum

NHK Taiga drama series "Berabo", featuring Juzaburo Tsutaya, the main character of "Tsutashige", will begin in January 2025.
The stage where cultural figures who have left a name in the present day, such as Tsutashige, Utamaro Kitagawa, Sharaku, Kyoden Santo, Makoto, and Tokasha 19, appeared in dramas, are now centered on Nihonbashi in Chuo-ku. is.

A town walk guide will take you to the old Nikko Kaido Hondori, but there is a "information board for the ruins of Koshodo" in Tsuyu-cho (Tori Aburacho; current Nihonbashiodenmacho), where Tsutashige's Koshodo was located, but the only one that shows the state of Koshodo is the picture book drawn by Azumado Katsushika Hokusai.

I've always felt unsatisfactory in the guidance of Koshodo, but at the end of November, I heard the news that Koshodo was re-exhibited at one of the whole exhibition halls in Chuo-ku, "Ichimosu Tagen Kimono Whole Wholesale Museum". I asked immediately.

It is also featured in "Toshimura"'s correspondent blog. → "Juzaburo Tsutaya" Koshodo "Reproduction and free release"

"Koshodo" drawn by Hokusai

"Koshodo" drawn by Hokusai and Tsutaya "Koshodo" revived! ? Ichimosu Tagen Kimono Wholesale Museum

This is the Koshodo that Katsushika Hokusai drew.
Looking at the picture, it seems that the shop was not so big.
In Japanese shop curtain, you can see the letters of Koshodo and the "Fujiyama-shaped ivy leaf" which is also the original seal of Tsutashige.

In the store, ukiyo-e and books are lined up, and Tsutashige's original seal is also on the lantern-shaped box sign in front of the store.
On the right side, it is written as "Benie wholesaler Juzaburo Tsutaya", and on the left side is "Aburacho Benie wholesaler Tsutaya Shigesaburo".

This picture was painted around 1802, and Tsutashige died in 1797, so it seems to be Koshodo after the second generation took over the store.

Reproduction exhibition of the hottest "Koshodo"

By the way, this is the reproduction exhibition of the Koshodo of the Ichimosu Tagen Kimono Wholesale Museum.
The atmosphere of Hokusai's Koshodo illustrations is good, and the Japanese shop curtain and the lantern-shaped box signs are faithfully reproduced.
Ukiyo-e paintings of Utamaro and Sharaku are placed inside the store, and in front of the store, long-established traditional crafts in the Nihonbashi area, spelling of the Iwai Tsutsura store, brushes of Edoya, and fans of Ibasen.

Currently, it is a pre-opening period, and it is scheduled to officially open from January 6.

Photography was also OK.
The shop was very kind, and they sat on the tatami mats of Koshodo and took pictures.
