Happy New Year 2025!
~ Kyobashi Edgran New Year Event ~
"Lion dance, Yasugi-bushi, Japanese calligraphy performance,
"I feel the New Year with a Japanese musical instrument band"
Hello, it's "Take-chan". I'm celebrating my third New Year as a correspondent. It has become a New Year's annual event, but this year I went to Kyobashi Edgran on January 3rd. When you arrive after 1:00 pm, people, people and people before Kyobashi Edgran. Chuo-dori, which is the course of the Hakone Ekiden return route, is filled with people. Every time the runners ahead of the goal pass through in front of them, the wind is really born. At the same time, there is a lot of fun. Every player works hard! It's a nice New Year's scenery to watch.
After the players are full of their hearts, the lion dance begins at 2:00 pm. Following the lion dance, I enjoyed a lot of annual menus such as Yasugi-bushi, Japanese calligraphy performance, and Japanese musical instrument band.
Let's look back one by one.
The lion dance of "Sagami-sato Kagura Kakizawa Sawa Shanaka" is alive!
"Sagami-sato Kaguragaki Sawa Shanaka" is one of the few Iemoto hereditary Kagura shrines that have inherited tradition in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The appearance of the lion dance dancing as if it were really alive was an impressive thing! Why is a lion dance good luck? When you have a celebration, the lion dance is "biting." "Checking" is said to have a good luck because the word "God possession" is similar. I also wrapped my congratulatory gift, and received "God possession." This should be a good luck again this year!
Yasugi-bushi in Japan! The world view of the teacher of Tachikawa Hirarin
Yasugi-bushi is also designated as Intangible Folk Cultural Property, Yasugi-shi. Yasugi-bushi, the best teacher of Tachikawa Hirarin, who shines in Japan. I look at it every year, but I'm really impressed with how I put my waist in half. It is Japan's best way to create a story with only choreography and facial expressions without speaking at all!
"Nyorotto" Japanese calligraphy Performance by Rakusho Kiha Imaizumi
Japanese calligraphy added traditional Japanese calligraphy and art to express brush letters according to the image of words. In addition, Mr. Kiha Imaizumi, who collectively named "Rakusho" for the style of enjoying the book with that playfulness. It seems that "Rakushoya" is a trademark registration of Kiha Imaizumi. This year, he drew the word "horaku" like a snake. "Toyoraku" is the word "fruitful and everyone enjoys it." I hope this year will be such a year!
Finally, the best performance by a Japanese musical instrument master trio!
The koto is Mihoko Yasushima. Performer of Ikuta-style koto music (koto, Sangen). Graduated from the Department of Japanese Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. He belongs to "Traditional Performing Arts Project Team TRAD JAPAN". A great person who has won numerous contests, including the "Kenjun Memorial Kurume Koto Music Festival National Koto Music Competition". It may be the first time I have heard the full version of the "Spring Sea" live. A great word! Once again, I was able to feel the beauty of the koto.
The drum is Mr. Shingo. In 2011, he became a professional drum player and played not only ensembles with drums, but also various genres such as pop, jazz, and classical music. 188cm tall. Occasionally, I am fascinated by the dynamic performance like a hard rock. When Shingo hit a large drum, the vibration echoes throughout the venue.
Shinobue is Koji Kishida. Studied solo Shinobue with Yoshihiro Kano and Noh with Yukihiro Ichiso. Born as a farmer who inherits festival music, he is good at expressing in various genres while maximizing the skills and sounds of the music cultivated since childhood. This year, he said that he will focus more on agriculture and reduce the performance a little, but he promised that he would always come to Edgran in New Year and Obon.
