Berabo ~ Tsutashige Eikano Yume Story ~ ⑩
  ~ Gennai Hiraga~

Remotely navigate the beloved Chuo-ku, rosemary sea.

Did you watch the 10th episode of NHK Taiga drama series "Berabo-Eikano Tsutashige Yume no Yumebanashi-"?

The 5th generation Segawa's Oiran Road in bride costumes was very impressive.

Rosmari usually writes this "Berabo ... Imon" series in the style of determining the subject before airing with reference to the "Next Notice" and adding it after broadcasting along it.

However, I was surprised at the 10th episode this time, and I guess the artist Shunsho Katsukawa will come out here again.

At the end of the 10th episode, the explanation of Shunsho Katsukawa showed Ningyocho Karakuri Ogura, the Chuo Ward Folk Museum, and Ningyocho Street.

Shunsho Katsukawa was stocked as the person he wanted to write, but he hadn't put it together yet. I will write next time, if the connection between Chuo-ku is stronger than other Chuo-ku stories.

So this time, I will use "Hidden Ball Part 2".

I would like to talk about Gennai Hiraga, which has appeared in the second episode, which is well known. This time, Mr. Gennai also appeared in episode 10 with Suharaya Ichibe, who spotted in this series [Imon 5].

Gennai Hiraga, despite the Edo period, should have been walking around the current Chuo-ku.

In his later years, he had a blade wound and killing case, and was imprisoned in a prison in Kodemmacho, and died of tetanus in prison.

So I don't think there is a problem with the connection with Chuo-ku.

The opening image and the second and third images are Koami Shrine at Nihonbashi Koamicho 16-23.

Koami Shrine has already been introduced.

ー Gennai Hiraga

Kyoho 13 (1728)-Yasuei 8 (1780)

Joruri authors, poets, Dutch painters, and inventors in the middle of the Edo period. It is known for being versatile, but many people remember it with "Electer".

"Gennai" is a common name, and seems to have been called "Kunitomo".

Born in Sanuki no Kuni, now Kagawa Prefecture, he became a place to study Nagasaki, Osaka, and Kyoto at a young age, and then went to Edo.

While being involved in various events, he gained knowledge of the elderly and Okitsugu Tanuma, and gradually began to appear on the front stage of the times.

The relationship with Tsutashige is also depicted in "Berabo ...". It's better not to talk a lot here.

Please take a look at "Berabo ..." for more information from here.

It is played by Akira Yasuda. You have a reputation for acting.

Gennai Hiraga, a famous person with a variety of ideas

"Kiyo's genius to change the future of Japan with overflowing ideas"

Hongusa, playwright, mine developer, inventor…When advanced ideas come to mind one after another, they travel around Japan to achieve them, turning over success and failure, sometimes called Yamashi.

Okitsugu Tanuma (Ken Watanabe) was also absorbed in that idea, and he was so impressed that he entrusted his special mission.

Tsutashige (Mr. Meteor Yokohama) also tried to contact him to request work in Gennai, who was a famous Edo celebrity, in an attempt to attract customers to his local Yoshiwara again.…。

The image is 4-9 Nihonbashi Koamicho, Venus Inari Shrine.

Venus Inari Shrine has already been introduced as follows.

⇒ November 3, 2020 "No.27 Shrine with a quiet appearance that can be reached from Ningyocho Station-Venus Inari Shrine-"

According to materials from the Saitama and Chichibu regions where Mr. Gennai went to mine development, Mr. Gennai's appearance is shown.

① He was a man with a good shoulder.

② He had a long face, and there were two owls on the bottom of his left eye.

③ My nose was big and my eyes were elongated.

④ There was a small bruise like a melon in the chin on the left (chin) (kizu of boyhood).

⑤ The index finger was longer than the average person.

⑥ The tabi was ten and a half. (Because one sentence is about 2.4cm, "10 sentences and a half" is about 25.2cm.)

⑦ The voice was a sound.

⑧ I was writing every night without sleeping.

⑨ A large beard with a large waist (Tabusa: a hair bundled overhead, Motodori).

⑩ Sake is a great sake.

⑪ I have forgotten the loincloth after entering the hot water.

・・It seems that it was written. It's easy to draw portraits.

The portrait of Mokuro Kimura mentioned above seems to have been a picture in late Tokugawa shogunate 66 years after Gennai's death, and a drawing from a person who knows Mr. Gennai.

Mr. Gennai, he was very versatile.

Invention, herbalism, geology, medicine, tattoo drama, talent and success of Joruri and Haiku.

However, it seems that he did not show his talent when learning Dutch.

If you had mastered the Dutch language, it would have been easy to translate "Tarheranatomia" and publish "Dismantling Shinsho".

On the other hand, Mr. Gennai also suffered from the failure of the Chichibu mine development.

In his later years he was very angry, and he died with a sword, entered a prison in Ningyocho, where he died.

It was a very disappointing end.

However, as depicted in "Berabo ...", there is no doubt that Mr. Gennai was a very lovely person.

・・・ I would like to focus on the upcoming NHK Taiga drama series "Berabo ~ Eikano Yume Story ~" and Chuo-ku related.

As an aside,...

This time, Episode 10 featured Rosmari's extra friend, so I looked particularly smiling. Thank you very much, Mr. NHK.
