I worshiped Shinohashi a generation ago

The office where I work is located in Kakigaracho, Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, and the flow of the Sumida River is right in front of me. The current Shin-ohashi Bridge over there was completed in 1977.
One generation before this bridge, Shin-ohashi Bridge was an iron truss bridge (a bridge supported by a combination of triangles) and was completed in 1912. Some of them (approximately 23m) are preserved in Meiji Mura in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture under the name "Sumida River Shinohashi" (registered Tangible Cultural Property). The design philosophy is different from the modern era where there are many refreshing bridges in pursuit of functional beauty, but if such a bridge is located in the town, it has a very strong presence. The track of the streetcar was also restored on the road surface. It was a tour of a cold snowy day, but it was worth going far away. In addition, many other cultural properties such as architecture, civil engineering, and machinery are exhibited on a large site, and it was a place that Japanese would definitely like to see once.
Get off at Inuyama Station on the Meitetsu Inuyama Line, and there is a bus bound for Meiji Village from the Inuyama Station East Exit bus stop in front of the station.
