Sony Aquarium 2019
Ginza Sony Park is a space operated under the concept of an experimental "park" that continues to change for a limited time until the fall of 2020, following the renewal of the Sony Building, and programs such as various hands-on events and live performances are being implemented throughout the year.
From July 26 to August 18, the "Sony Aquarium", known as the "Summer feature of Ginza", which has been around since 1966, will appear again this year under the supervision of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. About 30 species of 1,000 creatures swim around in a large aquarium with a width of about 5m installed on the ground floor of Ginza Sony Park, including the eyeglass monkey fish known by the name "Napoleon fish" from the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, and giant sharks. The unique creatures and the hustle and bustle of the city where many people come and go overlap, creating a unique landscape that brings coolness in the middle of the city.
On weekends, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium breeding staff will explain the aquarium (10:30/17:00) twice a day for feeding time, and this year, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium Researcher Open College is also planned.
