Kyobunkan Building Paper Diorama Exhibition until August 1st
In 1934, shortly after the completion of the Kyobunkan Building, the Brazilian Coffee Advertising Office was opened on the first floor of the Bible Hall building to spread coffee directly managed by the Brazilian government to Japan. This was a modern one designed by Antonin Raymond and painted with a huge mural painting "Earth" drawn by painter Tsuguji Fujita (Leonard Fujita).
According to the introduction of this diorama, "The Kyobunkan and Bible building was designed by architect Antonin Raymond and completed in 1933. The building was filled with Raymond Design Office on the 8th floor of the building, a bookstore on the 2nd floor, and a Brazilian Coffee Advertising Office and Fuji Ice, famous as a restaurant parlor, on the 1st floor, making it a suitable building for a base for urban cultural activities. "
The map at this time is P18 of the walk master No.280 "Walking in Tokyo in Showa", and "Fuji Ice" as the townscape at the time of 1940. This cafe was built on the second floor of the Kyobunkan in a bookstore in the early Showa period. It has been introduced as a whole.
In addition to this work, masterpieces that have been completely restored with paper on a 1/20 scale, such as the Kyobunkan at the time of completion by Antonin Raymond, are on display along with the secret stories of high school students who produced the work.
