Let's put a paper crane together for 2020!
Hello, this is Minato kid.
For the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Chuo-ku is recruiting paper cranes from everyone, entitled "Orizuru Wave-Chuo-ku Hospitality Project-".
In this project, the goal is to hand out the folded paper cranes to visitors to Chuo-ku next summer. Many people will come from overseas and from all over Japan. The cranes are entrusted to their own hands and fly from here in Chuo-ku to the world.
The cranes you folded are collected at three locations in the city. There are special collection boxes at the Chuo-ku government office main building, Nihonbashi special branch office, and Tsukishima special branch office.
The other day, when I visited the Chuo-ku government office, a desk was set up so that anyone could sit and break. There is also a manual on how to fold, so it seems that you can easily participate!
It seems that any paper, such as origami, wrapping paper, and waste paper, can be used. It is recommended for 15cm long and 15cm wide. On the homepage of Chuo-ku, original origami can be downloaded and used.
The Chuo-ku mark and the motif of the tournament logo are patterned, and it's cool! Minatoko liked the original origami of Chuo-ku. Of course, fold the crane, but in addition to that, I would like to keep it carefully as a collection of Chuo-ku fan Minatokko.
It is safe to say that you have forgotten how to fold the crane. On the home page, we introduce how to fold it. In addition, events that also serve as origami classes are also planned at the following three locations.
Sunday, July 28 10:00-13:00
Atrium on the 1st floor of Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower
August 2nd (Fri), 3rd (Sat), 4th (Sun) 10:00-19:00
Inspiration Hall on the B1st floor of Ginza Itoya
Sunday, August 25 11:00-16:00
Grand Lobby on the 2nd floor of Harumi Triton Square

Origami is a proud culture of Japan. And the crane is a symbol of "peace." One person can't exchange greetings with everyone who visits, but I feel like everyone can connect with everyone if a crane folded with all my heart reaches someone!
The application period for cranes is scheduled until the end of December this year. I hope many people will be happy! Minato kid is also thinking of folding a crane!
