Hamacho Park Oedo Festival Bon Dance Festival after the rain

On August 23 and 24, the annual Oedo Festival Bon Dance Festival was held at Hamacho Park. On the first day of the 23rd, the heat was a bit softened after the rain, and it was crowded with many people, including children and people returning from work.

By the beginning of the opening parade, it was raining, and three people in the middle of Miss in yukata, woodworking from the Edo Fire Memorial Party, and handmade portable shrine by local elementary school students paraded through amazake Yokocho from Ningyocho to the venue.

At the opening ceremony, a ladder ride was performed by the Edo Fire Memorial Party in the town fire extinguisher. Unlike watching in the daytime, the ladder ride with a silhouette that emerged against the background of the sky at dusk was a bit fantastic.

There are also stalls of each place name product.

At the venue, there are stalls of local products such as sister cities in fair and Chuo-ku, and local characters also appeared. The children were happy. The photo shows Nono-chan, a local character from Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture.

By the way, Hamacho Park is a reconstruction park created along with Sumida Park and Kinshi Park as a reconstruction project following the Great Kanto Earthquake. Originally, Bon Odori also includes the meaning of requiem, so I thought a little about that.
