Japan's Simple Painting - Mitsui Memorial Museum -
It has a subtitle of loose, cute, and fun art. The special exhibition is held at the Mitsui Memorial Museum in Nihonbashi. The simple paintings with gentle touch that remain in scrolls, picture books, folding screens, scrolls, etc. that have been drawn in Japan for a long time are called simple paintings. The first time I enter the museum, Haniwa in Kofun period, and the expression of the person holding the boar is smiling satisfactorily. People, animals, Buddhas, and youkai appear in various eras, places, and sometimes different worlds.
The simple painting, mainly by the common people, is a beautiful painting art that is drawn into a mysterious charm beyond good and daunting. "Japan, the country of anime" is connected from here. Please spend the end of summer gently with a tasty simple picture.
