Hello, this is Minato kid.
In Tsukiji River Ginza Park, there is a statue of the famous dog Tyori. Tyroli is Japan's first therapy dog, a dog that has given hope to many people, who are sick, physically handicapped, and the elderly.
I didn't know much about Tyrol, so I read a book called "Tyroli", a book written by Toru Oki, a representative of the International Therapy Dog Association and a parent of Tyrol, born in Nihonbashi Ningyocho. So, I would like to introduce myself to tylori.
♪ The story of the famous dog Tiroli
In the early summer of 1992, Tylori was saved by a neighbor who was wounded by a heartless man and was abandoned with a puppy. "Tyroli" is the name given by the children.
Tyroli lived in an unmanned hut hiding. At this time, I had a meeting with Toru Oki. The exchange between Mr. Oki and the children, and Tyori and the puppies begins.
One day, Tyrol was avenged from a suspicious dog to bark to protect his puppy, and his existence became public and sent to a public health center. And at the beginning of the crisis, Tylori was helped by Mr. Oki. I want to help Mr. Oki's tylori! It was nothing but a strong enthusiasm.
And from this day, the new days of Tyroli begin.
Mr. Oki has been training several Siberian haski as therapy dogs for some time. And he made them join.
Thylori is different in size, strength, and everything. At first he was worried, but Tyrol was not a dog who had never experienced life. And the cleverness of life, he had suddenly turned Siberian Haskeys into a child.
At the same time, Tylori had deep affection, gentleness, and the power to resonate with others. It was the qualities of a therapy dog. Tyroli had nature and its ability.
It was when my friend Siberian Haski got sick. Snuggling with friends who can't stay walking, going one step further, looking back, and matching the stride.
- The forehead of the tyroli, who was suffering, had wrinkles that seemed to be worried about branigan. - (quoted from Toru Oki Iwasaki Shoten, a famous dog Tyori)
The photos attached to the pages before and after that show a tylori worried about friends. The expression looked like a human to me. When you look at that expression, the deep emotions of Tyroli are approaching. It's an expression that really worries my friends and thinks about what I can do.
And another photo. There was also a photo in the book since I started working as a therapy dog. This is a commemorative photo with an elderly person in a wheelchair. Tyroli is smiling. She has a fresh look, shines her eyes, and laughs. There is a feeling of care for the elderly and pride in the work of therapy dogs.
I was nailed to these two photos. I have never seen such an expressive dog. And what I thought was that it was not a dog or a human who heals a person. All of these things are "thylori."
In the book, the events that Tyloli caused as a therapy dog that can be called miracle, interaction with people, lovely episodes of Tyloli, and the Tyloli before leaving to heaven are drawn with a gentle look. Kanji also has a reading kana, so it can be read by children.
I also wanted to see Tyroli ... When I finished reading the book, that thought filled my heart.

"Famous Dog Tyori Monument" Tsukiji River Ginza Park 1-13-20 Tsukiji, Chuo-ku
A nameplate was embedded at the foot of the monument. The characters "EYE CONTACT SWEET LITTLE DARLING" are engraved. "Icontact" was a practice in which tylori showed the most uniqueness.
When she looked at her eyes, she said she was wrapped in a mysterious sense of security that she understood everything here. Tyroli always poured his generous affection into the other person in front of him.
Tyroli, a dog who laid the foundation and contributed to social welfare at the time when the existence of therapy dogs was not known in Japan yet. When I visited Tsukiji River Ginza Park, many pigeons flew through the sky of the bronze statue of Tylori. It was like a picture of a wide width.
Tylori is still loved by many people.
