Unmanned convenience store @ Kabuto-cho
Recently, "self-checkouts" are often introduced at major convenience stores, but the usage seems to be not good. However, there is a bullish convenience store in Kabuto-cho that "there is only self-checkout (there is no clerk)" (^^).
Its name is "ROBOT MART". Actually, it opened last fall, so some people may have already used it. I used it sometimes instead of vending machines because the office is very close, but this time I would like to introduce you with a story from the store manager.
※Is it an unmanned store manager? Please leave this tukkomi: Laugh
It's such a shop
As you can see from the photo above, it seems that there are some consumables such as tissue paper, mainly for dry and soft drinks. It's inevitable that we don't have products that require age certification or products that have a short shelf life.
Prices are much cheaper than convenience stores! 100 yen including tax. Considering point redemption by cashless payment, it is still actually 97 yen.
There's no clerk, but Pepper will talk to you (when you go nearby). Previously (left) I used to work as a clerk on the other side of the cash register, but as a result of unifying the payment tables into one, the layout of the shop changed a little, and recently, "What are you doing in such a place?" (right)
What is the payment method?
Place the product you want to buy on the table and make a QR code reading payment. If it is a normal reading payment, you enter the amount here and then show it to the shop person to check it, but the point that "show it to the camera (red circle in the image above)" is different only.
Even so, the first thing that surprised when you enter the store is that you can't pay with cash, credit card, or electronic money at all. Even if you think that it is a cashless payment because it is an unmanned convenience store, you may be a bit confused about "What is it?" (^^)
You can only use PayPay and the cryptocurrencies called Robot Mart Charlett. PayPay is available, so AliPay (subsidy treasure) is automatically available.
It's a shop with dreams.
Although the store is unmanned, only customer service and payment are automated, and someone needs to perform daily operations such as closing the store, putting out items, making POPs, cleaning, etc. In addition, since it has a strong aspect as an experimental store, it goes without saying that verification and sales activities that make use of it are of paramount importance.
That's why? We interviewed Shohei Yoshida (left photo) of Robot Security Polys Co., Ltd., who is in the office on the other side next to the store, across the door. At the beginning, I wrote "store manager", but it may be better to call it the manager.
Robot Security Polys is a company that provides a variety of services related to robots, including "sales and purchases of robots." (Click here for the website of Robot Security Company.)
There was a huge mecha (right photo) in the shop, but it seems that this is a robot called "Skeltonics", which has only six cars in the world, and it can be rented to events etc. If you look at the promotional video (attention: sound output), it will have a great impact.
In addition, it seems that the robot mart is currently "only here in Kabuto-cho in Japan", but it seems that more than 30 mini-convenience stores installed in the office called "Mini Robot Mart" have already been introduced by more than 30 companies .
Anyway, rather than simply "unmanned for labor saving and cost saving", it seems like a shop with dreams that makes you imagine the world ahead of unmanned!
※Personally, I would be grateful if you could diversify the payment method a little more ... Also, since the way of stopping the shopping bag is rough, it is quite difficult to remove only one and use it ... (^^)
