I think of Mr. Toya Kitamura, a graduate of Yasuaki Elementary School in Ginza

As a martial arts fan, I often went to the venue to watch martial arts games for a while. Looking at the game with some preliminary knowledge of the background and strengths of the participating players, sometimes `` Players who are called the strongest in the dojo compete fully, but they can not do anything in the game and lose just face the opponent '' I have encountered a few scenes such as Because the expectations were high, I decided to go home with the thought of why and the expectation that the weakness would be corrected next.

When I learned about the life of Toya Kitamura, a graduate of Yasuaki Elementary School, I remembered this memory for some reason.

There are not many celebrities among the graduates of Yasuaki Elementary School in Ginza, but there is also an explanation and a stone monument "Toson Shimazaki Kitamura Toya Children's Day Learn here" in front of the school, so both of these are considered representative. I think it's okay.

Nevertheless, compared to Mr. Fujimura Shimazaki, I may be the only one, but I think Mr. Toya Kitamura's profile is not so high.

Fujimura wrote in "When the cherry blossoms ripen" and "Spring" that the hero (drawing as a senior who sincerely respected) based on Toruya committed suicide and was shocked.

In a series of writings such as "Internal Life Theory", Toruya wrote that human beings have something called "inside", and that the role of literature is to express it. This was a very new feeling at that time. Toruya keenly criticized the play of the old addictment and the mass literature that was emerging at the time, and what was depicted in it was not just a "love" but a mere greed of the body. Did. It is said that Toruya gained overwhelming support from the rapidly advancing literary youths at the time.

However, Toruya couldn't leave any work that would fit his own literary theory. And foreseeing only the concept of new literature, he died at the young age of twenty-five.

In front of young literary young people who admire Toriya, his words may have been esoteric but meaningful, and may have attracted so much respect for the people around him. However, juniors who respect him give the world something that sells well as literary works.

(This is thought to have been linked to my personal memory because it is strong in the dojo but cannot exert its power in the game.)

Toruya may have struggled with the inner truth of that heart.

I sometimes think that the average age of literary scholars, not limited to Toya Kitamura, is sometimes scary and short. Many of them will lead to overwork and mental illness according to the current standards. However, looking back on my company life in the past, there was no concept that people would die due to overwork, so it would have been even more at this time.

Only the suffering of not being able to write novels and poems leads to death. No, it is probable that Toruya showed himself to his followers that literature was so sublime enough to deserve death. This could not deny the possibility that he had deified him.

Toruya thinks "sukiya"

Toya thinks of Toya Kitamura, a graduate of Yasuaki Elementary School in Ginza who thinks "Sukiya".

The real name of Toya Kitamura is Montaro Kitamura. It is said that Toruya was inspired by "Sukiya", and I think that attending Yasuaki Elementary School near Sukiyabashi had a meaning in his life during this period. .

With that in mind, when you stand in front of this monument, you will feel the weight of this simple word too.

"Toson Shimazaki Toya Kitamura Toya Children Learn here"
