2019 Kojiro Matsui Exhibition
Copperplate engraving uses a copper plate rolled on the woodblock as one of the concave plates, and uses physical treatments such as "carving" and "corroded" to create a concave, pack ink there, and press pressure with a press. It is a technique to transfer ink from plate to paper by printing. Copperplate plate making can be divided into two types: direct concave plate method, direct concave method, and indirect concave method (corrosion method), but Mr. Matsui uses a method called etching in the latter indirect concave method, and copper plate is used to make a concave part using the property of melting in acid, and the ink is filled with pressurized by the pressurization method. The exhibition is being held at "GALLERY Uesuto" from October 14 (Mon) to October 19 (Sat). Admission is free from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm (until 4:00 pm on the last day).
The upper part is a part of the work of copperplate prints. It seems that the ephemeral and melancholy of life wrapped in eternal nature and nature in a mysterious world are springing up from the monotone screen. Koshiro Matsui is 68 years old from Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and made copperplate prints while studying at art college. After graduating from art university, he worked as an art teacher at a junior high school in Kasukabe City, Saitama Prefecture, and after retirement, works at exhibitions etc. Was announced.
The top is a work of woodwork. The cute little birds displayed in one corner in the lonely copperplate print work of monotone will soften your heart.
The above is a photo of the entire venue. Although it is a small venue, the author Matsui also said that he would like to visit Hiari as much as possible, so please feel free to call out and ask about the work. You may be able to experience a mysterious world.
