The Olympic and Paralympic Games are the world's largest festival of sports and peace.

In Chuo-ku, where the athlete's village, which is the center of the tournament, we will develop a "paper crane wave" to disseminate peace both domestically and internationally.

Origami Crane Wave is a hospitality initiative to pass paper cranes, a symbol of peace and Japanese culture, to those who visit Chuo-ku at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

After collecting paper cranes and packing them, they will be distributed to foreigners and other visitors at the time of the tournament.

In addition, we aim to spread efforts to fold cranes around the world through the paper cranes handed after the tournament, leading to permanent peace in the world.

Recruiting paper cranes!
Application period: From July 28 (Sun) to December 27 (Fri) [planned]

① Prepare paper for folding paper cranes.

Paper can be 15cm x 15cm in size.

Origami at home and familiar paper are also available.

 Do not use paper that is labeled for commercial or specific claims.

 

② Fold a paper crane.

 

③ Put it in the collection box.

Collection boxes are installed at the main building of Chuo-ku government office, Nihonbashi special branch office, and Tsukishima special branch office.

Subsequent schedule

① Bags have been packed since January 2020.

We will recruit volunteers and pack paper cranes.

 

② Distribution from July to September 2020.

We will distribute paper cranes to people visiting Chuo-ku from Japan and overseas.

 

 

A "collection box" was also installed at the post office where rosmari often goes ...

According to what I heard, paper crane collection boxes are also installed on the floors of each post office in Chuo-ku.

So Rosmari folded three cranes during a short waiting time at Nihonbashi Ningyocho Post Office here at 1-chome Nihonbashi Ningyocho.

This is because origami was prepared beside the collection box.

I felt it was easy to fold because there was a line.
