Winter birds came to the Harumi Canal of the Sumida River
After mid-October, winter birds come to the mouth of the Sumida River and the Harumi Canal for wintering. Who is the first ride this season? I was worried that today, but on the 26th, I confirmed that some giant vans appear only in winter in the Harumi Canal, although they are still birds in Hoshihajiro Eurasian wigeon safely and in Japan.
The old storage yard has become a good wintering place.
It's a group of people. Males can be distinguished from a distance because their backs to stomachs are pure white and their heads are brown.
It is often found in the Hamarikyu Gardens, so please find it.
I saw it for the first time on the 24th, and finally I was able to shoot in bright sunlight today. It stays the longest of the winter birds until the beginning of May. This group has a very bright red color on the legs. It may be a young bird who was born this year and came here to the Sumida River for the first time. As you age, the red color of your legs and beaks becomes black.
This is a two-shot on the twenty-fourth. The left is black-tailed gull and the right is Yurikamome. black-tailed gull's legs and beaks are yellow, so the difference between them is obvious. However, have you ever seen a white bird flying slowly on the surface of the Sumida River in the summer and thought, "Oh, seagulls are flying"? I also believed so, Kamome, But the absolute difference between black-tailed gull and seagull is that seagull is a winter bird and black-tailed gull is a resident bird. In other words, "Kamome" seen at the sea and estuary in summer means black-tailed gull.
When walking along the Sumida River Canal, try to find the difference between the Japanese plum and the black-tailed gull. Actually, there is seagull that looks like black-tailed gull. It's really a tough question for birds to cry. These winter birds have come to polish their identification.
