The Rabbit of Tsukuda

Indian spot-billed duck parent and child came to Ishikawajima Park!

On the morning of Saturday, May 30, I met Indian spot-billed duck parents at Ishikawajima Park. There are 11 chicks, so they seem to have been born by digging Tsukuda on the 27th. In Ishikawajima Park over the past five years, three or four sets of Indian spot-billed duck parents and children will appear from May to July.

From the Sumida River, I came into the area of Paris. Let's watch a little far away so that you don't be afraid. We humans are going to be rocky.

They have a strong appetite. It's a lot of stretches.

Today is Saturday. There are no boats that come and go early in the morning, so there is no waves and it is a relaxing meal time.

I must have had enough meals. Mother Indian spot-billed duck began crossing the Sumida River without taking a break with cheerful chicks who had never wetted their wings due to the waves of the ship.

After that, this parent and child went into the Kamejima River.

The next morning, the parent and child who showed up again had a happening targeted by the crow. Before and after low tide, rocks are exposed and have to walk, making it easier for crows to attack. I safely crossed to the Echinakajima boat pier on the opposite bank.

Two weeks later, I witnessed this parent and child of Indian spot-billed duck on the Kamejima River. The width of the Kamejima River is not suitable for raising children. The fact that there are three chicks is probably the harshness of nature.

In July, I hope that you will be able to encounter another set of parents and children every year.
