This time, we introduce the rice harvesting of "Hakuzuru Ginza Tenku Farm" on the roof of this Ginza building.
As part of disseminating sake, Hakutsuru Sake Brewery has been making rice on the roof of the Tokyo branch office building since 2007 as a project to make rice on the roof of the Tokyo branch office building, and has developed its own rice "Hakutsuru Nishiki". I am working on cultivation.
This year, "Hakuzuru Nishiki", which was planted on June 15, grew and the harvest time was reached.

Sake rice (Sakamai) is rice that is the raw material of sake.
Shiratsuru Sake Brewery started breeding Hakutsuru Nishiki with the aim of elucidating the excellent characteristics of Yamada Nishiki, the best varieties of sake rice, and developing even better sake rice.
In 1995, we started crossing the varieties "Wataribune", the father of Yamada Nishiki, and the mother "Yamadabo", and the excellent varieties were registered as "Hakutsuru Nishiki" in 2007.
Rosemari has been introducing rice planting and rice harvesting here since rice harvesting in 2017.
Before COVID-19, we invite applicants and international students to experience rice planting and rice harvesting.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection this year, rice planting and rice harvesting will be done only by Hakutsuru Sake Brewery employees.

It was raining lightly until just before, and with the completion of rice harvesting, it was a lucky rice harvesting that was light rain again.
Approximately 20 employees of Hakutsuru Sake Brewery participated in today's rice harvesting work.
Now, go up to the roof of the building and start harvesting rice for 15 years.

How was the rice growing this year?
"I have grown steadily since the rice planting on June 15, but the temperature has been low since the end of the tray, so it was about one week to 10 days later than usual until the ears came out .
Since the fall, there has been no influence of the typhoon and the temperature has risen a little, so I was thinking that I could get back, but I couldn't go there a little, but today's day was a little slow I was able to greet you.
I think it's okay because it's getting golden, but if I also visited Seibu Landscaping (I'm helping), do you say that this year is more fruitful than usual, or the bundle is large, There was a lot of feeling, so if you get it properly, you can expect a good yield, so I'm looking forward to it a little bit. "

"It's November 17th.

(Until now) I don't think I've harvested it in the last week of October.

I think Seibu Landscaping's decision.
The rice is browner (usually old).
After all, it must be hot when it's hot.

"I have to be more than 3 mag. I can't do anything if it's usually rice.
Even when I was Takao, the predecessor team leader of Tenku Farm, I always got a second prize, but I can't afford to be out of my choice. There is such a situation.

"That's right.
The worst 3rd magnitude is fine, but if you go for the 3rd magnitude, you can't do it, so I'm trying to aim for the 2nd magnitude.

ーーWhen will you become a designated rice in Tokyo?
"No, it's impossible, because it's not a farmland.
First of all, it's not a farmland."
So here in Tokyo, no matter how good it is, the second grade rice is the best for Shiratsuru Nishiki.
"Yes, (Hakuzuru Nishiki) receives" First class rice "in Hyogo Prefecture, so it is originally registered there.
In Hyogo Prefecture, there are many people at the laboratory and there are many days of inspection, but in Tokyo there are only two more houses, and it is only one day of inspection. "

We talked to Mr. Sato after harvesting rice with Hakutsuru Sake Brewery employees.
I asked Mr. Sato during the rice planting. Certainly, when I was in elementary school, I had the experience of planting "bucket rice" at elementary school.

"Yes, it was my first time when I planted rice."

"Yes, I couldn't cut it with a sickle, at first.

ーWhen I planted rice, Mr. Sato was struggling with boots.
"The rice planting was watering, so it was hard at that time.
So I didn't know exactly what the soil was when harvesting rice today.
But according to the information I heard from some people, low boots are okay.
I was imagining that there was no such water.

"I wondered today whether this is the effect of rain or whether it is deliberately wet.

"There is no rice field, there are fields, but I've never seen rice fields at all."
