Recommended as a souvenir! "Shiosenbei" from Mihara Domoto store <Chuo-ku recommended souvenir>

"Mihara Domoto" is a confectionery shop that has a shop at the intersection of Suitengu-mae on the southern end of Ningyocho-dori.

Today, I would like to introduce "Shiosenbei", one of the representative products of the Mihara Domoto store's various Japanese and Western confectionery lineups, including what I heard after interviewing the store.

Feel free to eat! Thin baked rice cracker

Feel free to eat! It is recommended as a souvenir! "Shiosenbei" from Mihara Domoto store <Chuo-ku recommended souvenir>

The "Salt Senbei" at the Mihara Domoto store is a gem of carefully selected glutinous rice, thinly spreading it while leaving a crushing feeling, and baked fragrantly with soy sauce and salt. The salt, which is also included in the name, uses natural salt from Hakata and German white crystal (Iwashio). It is a special ingredient that contains plenty of minerals.

Is it salty because it's salt? It's easy to think, but when you actually eat it, it has a gentle taste based on soy sauce, the texture of the rice is fun, and the hand to open the bag will not stop!

The Mihara Domoto store also told me the appeal point, "Because it is thin, it can be enjoyed by a wide range of generations, from children to the elderly."
…Indeed, although there is certainly a texture like a rice cracker, it is thin that is easy to eat!

You can purchase it either by itself or in a makeup box.

It can be purchased with one piece or a makeup box! "Shiosenbei" from Mihara Domoto store <Chuo-ku recommended souvenir>

"Salt rice crackers" can be purchased from one piece by selling roses, and there are also multiple cosmetic boxes and cosmetic cans. In a cosmetic box
Approx. 1,000 yen (23 pieces, including tax, 1,080 yen),
Approx. 1.5 thousand yen (31 sheets, 1,545 yen including tax),
Approx. 2,000 yen (46 sheets, 2,160 yen including tax),
Approx. 3,000 yen (69 sheets, including tax, 3,240 yen),
…And at a good price, it is a thankful setting when choosing as a souvenir.
There are many offices around the Mihara Domoto store, so there are many customers who buy them as souvenirs.
It means that you have a makeup box for two months, so it's easy to make a souvenir from the viewpoint of longevity!
※The above price and quantity are as of the time of the interview.

More than 100 years in front of Suitengu! History of Mihara Domoto and Shiosenbei

More than 100 years in front of Suitengu! Recommended as a historical souvenir of the Mihara Domoto store and salt rice crackers! "Shiosenbei" from Mihara Domoto store <Chuo-ku recommended souvenir>

The Mihara Domoto store was founded in 1877 (Meiji 10). It seems that it started as a confectionery shop dealing with worshiper in Suitengu, which was transferred from the Kurume clan residence in Mita.
At that time, Suitengu was a remnant of the Edo period's `` Suitengu Shrine '', and ordinary people were allowed to worship only on the 5th day, and for those who worship outside the 5th day, the Mihara Domoto store It seems that the charm was divided. Under such circumstances, one of the signboard products of the Mihara Domoto store, "Mimori Naka", was born.

The salt rice crackers introduced this time are new compared to the middle of the castle, and it seems that sales began when they started manufacturing rice crackers at their own factory about 40 years ago. Now it's a signboard product.

By the way…I used to go to "Mihara-do" in Hongo, Bunkyo-ku in the past, but I was always worried about whether it was related to the Mihara Domoto store in Ningyocho. When you ask about this point, it seems that Mihara-do in Hongo is a shop where craftsmen who trained at the Mihara Domoto store in Ningyocho are separated and independent!

In addition to Hongo, there are sister stores in Japanese shop curtain in Kanda and Ikebukuro, and the sweets they sell are their own, but only Shiosenbei is made at the Mihara Domoto store factory.
Mihara-do in Hongo is famous for being "in the middle of university", but its roots may be in Ningyocho's "Mimorinaka".…When I imagined that the two worlds were connected, I was happy.

Let's go to the Mihara Domoto store!

Let's go to the Mihara Domoto store! Recommended as a souvenir! "Shiosenbei" from Mihara Domoto store <Chuo-ku recommended souvenir>

As a correspondent of the tourist association, I would like you to visit the Mihara Domoto store in Ningyocho!
…Therefore, I would like to tell you three recommended points that you actually want to see locally.

The first point is the production site of Dorayaki.
Of the sweets of the Mihara Domoto store, only Dorayaki, a signboard product along with salt rice crackers and Omori, is manufactured locally. You can see the dorayaki manufacturing site from the windows outside the store and the side of the showcase inside the store. This is irresistible!
(We had the clerk cooperate with the photo shoot. Thank you very much!

The second point is the rock located at the corner of the showcase.
It seems that this is the real thing of precious German white crystal used for salt rice crackers! It was salt!

The third point is the wide lineup of showcases.
The Mihara Domoto store sells not only Japanese sweets such as Dorayaki. The other showcase is also lined with Western sweets. Among them, I was worried about "Sabaran", a cake made of British dough soaked in rum. I'm going to eat it next time!

Seasonal sweets are also recommended.

By the way, I've introduced the Mihara Domoto store and salt rice crackers so far, including the contents that actually visited the interview, but how was it?

At the Mihara Domoto store, we also recommend "Ayu" sweets introduced in past articles in the current season. In addition, the signboard product Dorayaki offers a different taste depending on the season, and it is said that "Lemon Dorayaki" is on sale this season. This is also recommended.
By all means, please visit the Mihara Domoto store opposite the Suitengu!
