Mr. Yamada has been the team leader of Hakutsuru Ginza Tenku Farm since 2021.

What is the growth of rice this year?

On August 21, the 89th day after the rice planting, the heading was confirmed, and the ears were coming together.

Last year's heading was at the end of August, so it's faster than last year.

A lot of rice flowers are blooming right now.

I feel that one ear has fruit more fruit than last year.

So far, it's very good.

-You have already finished the "medium drying" of temporarily draining the water in the field, right?

It was held from late July to early August.

The water in the rice field is always in the water, so dry the soil and remove gas in the soil.

By removing gas, oxygen is sent to strengthen the roots, and draining water to stop growth and prevent the stems from growing too much.

There were times when the weather was unstable due to this heat, such as a guerrilla downpour during the middle drying, so this year we spent a little about a week or so.

It was dried until the ground was broken, and the water was returned.

Are there any measures to be taken before rice harvesting?

The fruit has come along, and I'm going to put a net for bird repellent soon.

Because it is also a typhoon season, it also has the effect of avoiding the wind.

Fortunately, the Tenku Farm has not been damaged by typhoons yet, but recently strong typhoons have occurred one after another, so I can't feel safe because the important season is coming.

I would like to take any measures that can be taken to protect the rice firmly.
