Remotely navigate the beloved Chuo-ku, rosemary sea.
We will launch the "Wri up at high-rise building - Looking up at high-rise buildings" series.
As the first installment, "St. Luke's St. Luke's St. Luke's Residence" will be picked up.
※ How to read "St. Luke's" is "Seiruka" or "Seiro?" I'm always wondering, but it's true to read [Seiruka].
Before the introduction
What is a high-rise building (high-rise house / high-rise building)?
In fact, there seems to be no clear criteria.
However, according to the Fire Services Act, it is more than 31m high.
In terms of the number of floors, it seems that it is more than 6 floors.
But now there is a rough "6th floor", this era.
On top of that, there seems to be a way of saying "super high rise".
It's not clear, but according to one theory, it says "more than 60m, more than 15 floors".
However, what clearly called the "super skyscraper" was the "Kasumigaseki Building" completed in 1968.
The Kasumigaseki Building, 156m, 36 floors above ground, was said to be the "highest building in Japan" at that time, but the current "Japan's best ..." is the Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower completed in 2023, 325.2m, 64th floor.
※ In 2027, 390m, TOKYO TORCH (Tokyo torch) Torch Tower (Tochi Tower) B ridge on the 63rd floor will be completed, and it will be "Japan's best ...". It's Chiyoda-ku, but it's the border with Chuo-ku.

・・・ Returning to the main subject, Rosmari will call a building that felt "very expensive" on this occasion as a "high-rise building."
"Look up at the skyscrapers" ...
Rosmari likes skyscrapers.
It's good to climb (not "climbing" or "climbing"), but I also like looking up at skyscrapers from below.
The other day, I looked at Roppongi Hills from below and then climbed up, but I suddenly thought here.
"I would like to introduce buildings related to Chuo-ku or Chuo-ku."
I wanted to introduce Roppongi Hills as well, but it was a sunny day, but it was Minato-ku.
I wish I had reached the level where I could blame and introduce the view, but the Chuo-ku side was not a very impactful landscape.
Therefore, I decided not to write an article about Roppongi Hills.
・・・ The next thing I came up with was the residence of St. Luke's St. Luke's St. Luke's, two buildings in St. Luke's Garden.
Because it is a tower that can be said to be a symbol of the skyscrapers in Chuo-ku.
About St. Luke's Garden, St. Luke's St. Luke's St. Luke's Residence ...
St. Luke's Garden is a complex consisting of the care residency department of the adjacent St. Luke's International Hospital, hotels, sports clubs, and rental offices.
The site is about 40,000 m2, which is a little short enough for one Tokyo Dome.
The tall building, St. Luke's St. Luke's Lux Tower, is 220.63m high and is the second tallest building in Chuo-ku.
At the time of construction, he reigned No. 1, but in 2022, "Tokyo Midtown Yaesu Central Tower (240.0m high)" was completed and became the second.
Completed in 1994 with St. Luke's Residence 48 floors above ground, 4 floors below ground.
The 3rd to 46th floors are office floors.
There are weather cameras of Nippon Television and Fuji TV on the rooftop.
Previously, there was an observation room on the 47th floor, but it was closed in 2010 and is now a sky restaurant called "Look with Sky Lounge".
And the lower building, St. Luke's Residence is 38 floors above ground and 3 floors below ground.
And the height is 146.1m, and as of June 2024, it seems to be the 27th height in Chuo-ku.
From the first floor to the 31st floor, it is a care residence, that is, a paid nursing home. There are 175 units.
The 32nd to 38th floors are hotel floors.
And on the way, the two buildings are connected, the contact bridge.
It seems that the general public can pass during the day.

It's the best angle.
The connecting bridge connecting the two buildings is also symbolic.

I took a picture from the garden in front of St. Luke's Garden.
The buildings are River City 21 and Tsukuda 2-1.
In the foreground is the Sumida River and the Sumida River Terrace.
River City 21
ー High-rise condominium with advanced living environment
On the site of the former Ishikawajima Harima Heavy Industries, which is adjacent to the emotional town of Tsukuda, "River City 21" with a comfortable living environment suitable for the 21st century is lined up.
It is a group of ultra-high-rise condominiums with 40 stories above the ground, and its design in harmony with the scenery of the Sumida River has been highly evaluated.

Harris, the first U.S. minister who was stationed in Japan after opening the port, opened a ministerial office in Zenpukuji, 1-6 Motoazabu, Minato-ku, in 1859.
Then, in 1874, a public hall was newly established in this area in Tsukiji Reservoir, and the shape was adjusted for the first time.
Later, this became too small and moved to the current location of Akasaka (U.S. Embassy) in 1890.
At the ruins of the ministerial hall, a monument of Komatsu stone was left.
The size is 86-101 cm long, 84-118 cm wide, 18-34 cm thick, two of which are the U.S. national emblems of the time, and one is a star, an eagle and a shield. Two are engraved with Goryo stars.
At present, three have been relocated in front of the Toysler Memorial Hall of St. Luke's International Hospital, and two have been relocated to St. Luke's Garden.
This monument is registered in the central ward Tangible Cultural Property as a valuable relic of the settlement period of Tsukiji.

The U.S. Embassy was opened in Zenpukuji Temple, Motoazabu 1-6, Minato-ku by Harris in 1859, but was newly built in this area in Tsukiji's foreign settlement in December 1875. I adjusted it for the first time.
Later, it was relocated to the current location of Akasaka in March 1890, and became the current embassy.
As a result of the last relocation, eight stone markers of Komatsu stone were left in this area.
The stone mark is engraved with three types of sculptures: a white head eagle, a star flag, and a star, and the white head eagle is an American national bird, and the 13 stars carved in the star flag indicate the early 13 states.
Three of the eight stone markers were donated to the American Embassy in Akasaka in October 1984 as a symbol of Japan-US friendship, and are now located in the front yard of the embassy.
The remaining five stone markers are registered as Chuo Ward Cultural Properties to convey the settlement era of Tsukiji, two of which will be installed here and three in front of the old hospital.

ー Five monuments that tell the story of the settlement period
After the Meiji Restoration, foreign settlements were opened in and around Akashicho.
In 1875, the American Embassy was also opened, and it was here until 1890.
The wooden two-story mission is said to have been a Western-style building with cream-colored paint.
The state of the exotic town with Western-style architecture and towering church towers was completely lost in the Great Kanto Earthquake.
At present, a total of five monuments are placed in St. Luke's International Hospital and St. Luke's Garden.
The stone cut off on the coast of Izu Peninsula is engraved with U.S. national birds such as white head eagle, shield-shaped star-shaped flags, and Goryo stars.
