Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games
What's the Medalist Parade?
~ Chuo-dori ~
Remotely navigate the beloved Chuo-ku, rosemary sea.
The 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games ended at the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games (September 8: September 9, Japan time). I haven't gotten cold yet.
The Japanese team won the most medals overseas, with 20 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals, for a total of 45 medals.
The number of gold medals won was the third largest after the United States and China. It's a great fight.
On the other hand, the Paralympic Games achieved a good result of 14 gold medals, surpassing 13 at the Tokyo Olympics.
It did not reach 41 silver medals, 17 bronze medals, for a total of 41, and 52 Athens in 2004, but it was a wonderful result.
And the medalist parade ...

Rosmari was very much waiting for the Olympic and Paralympic medalist parade to be held here in Chuo-dori.
On October 7, 2016, the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Medalist Parade was used for a long time on Chuo-dori.
Four years ago, in 2012, the London Olympics medalist parade was held.
London was the only Olympic medalist, but Rio also participated in the Paralympic medalist.
London had about 500,000 visitors, and Rio had about twice the distance of the parade, attracting about 800,000 visitors here in Ginza, to Nihonbashi.
By the way, Rosmari was not yet a correspondent in London, but the lunch break at work didn't match, so I could only see the parade preparation stage.
At the time of Rio, we watched it fully under the bridge of Nihonbashi along with correspondents.

Even after the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, the medalist parade would normally have been held on Chuo-dori.
You may have recorded a million more than one million viewers.
Unfortunately, due to the influence of Corona, it was not possible to plan the parade.
Regarding the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, it was decided to cancel the medalist parade on August 11.
The Japan Olympic Committee and the Japan Paralympic Committee explain that the burden of parade operation is taking into account.
The opening image shows the "Olympic Monument" exhibited at the bridge in Nihonbashi in July 2019, before the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

There were a lot of people and foreigners passing by, but this monument was captured in the image.
This is an image in front of the Ginza Cozy Corner Ginza 1-chome main store on Chuo-dori last year.
Last year, I also mentioned the Olympic and Paralympic medalist parade.

・・・ Let's look back on the Rio Olympic and Paralympic medalist parade from here.
The right woman of the three gymnastics men, the wrestling women's 53kg silver medal, Saori Yoshida, "The strongest girl of primates".
He served as captain of the Japanese team at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
After this, he was honored with the National Honor Award.
In the three tournaments up to Rio, 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London all won gold medals in the 55kg class.
Ai Fukuhara (left) and Yoshizumi Ishikawa (center) of table tennis women's group bronze medals.

Later, he became the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Mr. Fukuhara also won a silver medal in the table tennis women's group in London in 2012.
Mr. Ishikawa won three medals: 2012 London Silver, 2016 Rio Copper, and 2020 Tokyo Silver Table Tennis Women's Group.
He was the deputy captain of the Japanese team at the Tokyo Olympics.
In Paris this time, it was well received as a special caster for Fuji TV series.
Ai Fukuhara waved his hand toward Rosmari.
Absolutely, that's true.
"Takamatsu Pair", a badminton women's pair gold medal, Misaki Matsutomo (left) and Reika Takahashi (right).

Mr. Tsuji finished 5th at 400m at the Tokyo Paralympic Games and participated in 200m.
He won the 400m7th place in Paris. Congratulations.
Yasuhiro Yamashita, the rightmost man facing here, was the Managing Director of the JOC (Japan Olympic Committee) at the time of Rio 2016, and the General Manager of the Player Enhancement Division.
Later, he became the chairman of the JOC and became a member of the IOC (International Olympic Committee).
During his athlete days, he won a gold medal in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Judo Men's Indiscriminate Class.
He was also awarded the National Honor Award.
On the far right, "Go! I'm Kosuke Hagino of swimming, the man on the word TOKYO.
Mr. Hagino provided gold for men's 400m individual medley in Rio, silver for men's 200m individual medley, copper for men's 4x200m freestyle relay, and gold and silver copper.
In 2012 London, copper is made from men's 400m personal medley.
Medalists, the bright faces are very dazzling.
・・'- frankly speaking, Rosmari wanted to see the medalist parade.
I'm very sorry.
I hope that the Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games will revive the medalist parade four years later.
