The 17th Chuo-ku Tourism Certification
~ February 1st One Day of New River (in search of blissful time) ~

Hello. It's "New River".

Ritsuharu has passed, and it has been spring on the calendar, but cold days continue. How are you going to spend?

By the way, on February 1 (Saturday), I also took the "17th Chuo-ku Tourism Test". I took the test for the first time in two years, and this is the second time in two years.

Therefore, this time, we created a blog that looks back on the day, entitled "The 17th Chuo-ku Tourism Certification-Feb. 1 New River Day (in search of blissful time)-" .

Take a break at "Cafe Paulista" ...

Take a break at "Cafe Paulista" ... The 17th Chuo-ku Tourism Certification
~ February 1st One Day of New River (in search of blissful time) ~

I left the house at 7:30 in the morning, took a train, and arrived in Ginza after 9 o'clock. The test started at 10:30, but I wanted to enter the venue after taking a break at the coffee shop (after warming up), so I did it at this time.

The chosen coffee shop is "Cafe Paulista", which opened in December 1911 (1911). It is not listed in "Chuo-ku Monoshiri Encyclopedia" (Chuo-ku Tourism Certification Text) (hereinafter referred to as "Text"), but "Cafe Plantan" and "Cafe Lion" (described later) It is a long-established cafe that opened in the same era.

At the time of its opening, the cafe was located in the back of Minaminabe-cho, Kyobashi-ku (currently Ginza 6-chome), right opposite the Kojunsha (Japan's first social club established by Yukichi Fukuzawa in 1880), but it was unfortunately lost in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 (1923), and after 70 years, it was reopened in the middle and after the war.

By the way, the cafe of "Cafe Paulista" means coffee in Brazil (Portuguese), and Paulista (Paulista) means "Sao Paulo" or "Sao Paulo".

And the word "silver" is often used now to mean "walking around Ginza", but at that time it is said that it was also used to mean "going to" Cafe Paulista "in Ginza to drink Brazilian coffee."

I ordered the traditional "Cafe Paulista Old" of "Café Paulista" that John Lennon & Yoko Ono drank, and spent a break (warming up) before the exam.

Visit at Kumagaya Inari Shrine

Visit at Kumagaya Inari Shrine 17th Chuo-ku Tourism Test
~ February 1st One Day of New River (in search of blissful time) ~

Go out of "Cafe Paulista", head north on Chuo-dori, turn right at the first intersection, Toshin Tamatsubaki-dori, and you will find Kumagaya Inari Shrine (Ginza 7-12-9) on your left. This Inari-sha remembered that there was a good benefit for good luck, and here we asked, "I hope you can get good points!" (^^;

After praying for God and raising his feelings, turn left on Showa-dori and go north for about 150 meters to arrive at the test site.

※ At this time, there was no way to know that Kumagaya Inari Shrine would appear in today's certification test (Q49).

[About Kumagaya Inari Shrine] (See Text p. 63)

It originated from Naozane Kumagai, who was active in Genpei war, and has been enshrined here for hundreds of years. Kintaro Takemoto, the head of "Mogumi", fled the war, and is known as the god of fire prevention, good luck, and business connection.

The test site is "Coatyard Marriott Ginza Tobu Hotel" (Ginza 6-14-10). When I entered the venue, there were a number of familiar staff members of the Chuo-ku Tourism Association, and I felt relaxed with a smile. Even so, I am really grateful to be able to take the test at such a luxury hotel. Thank you to all the members of the Chuo-ku Tourism Association!

The test time is 90 minutes from 10:30 to 12:00, and the number of questions is 100 (one question per question). Solve problems (6 to 8 questions) every two spread pages and repeat the work of filling the mark sheet for about 1 hour. After that, we reviewed the whole, including the mark error, and the remaining 10 minutes. Using the test time as much as possible, I confronted 100 questions. There were about 10 questions that I was lost, but I think that thanks to the benefits of Kumagaya Inari Shrine, I was able to achieve the results I studied (^^)v

Depart for "Reward Lunch"!

Depart for "Reward Lunch"! The 17th Chuo-ku Tourism Certification
~ February 1st One Day of New River (in search of blissful time) ~

That's why the overall feel was good, so I felt good and left for a "reward lunch"!

I thought about the lunch place in various ways while studying for the exam, but if you would like to take a long time, I decided to go to a soba restaurant where you can enjoy soba in front of the soba.

The soba shop is located in the direction of Ningyocho. I decided to go on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line (4 stations, 8 minutes to Ningyocho Station), which I use for commuting from Higashi-Ginza Station, but if I checked it with the transfer application just in case, if I use the Toei Asakusa Line, I found that Ningyocho Station will arrive in almost a straight line, three stations and five minutes.

The subway network in Chuo-ku is quite complicated, especially in the vicinity of Higashinihombashi and Ningyocho, where multiple routes cross with curves, making it easier to enter the certification test. In this test, four questions were asked about "town walking problems", of which three were Bakuro-Yokoyama Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line (Question 10) and Higashi Nihonbashi Station on the Toei Asakusa Line (Question 39) and Ningyocho Station on the Toei Asakusa Line (Question 48) were the starting point for walking around the city.

And when you wait for a train at Higashi-Ginza Station on the Toei Asakusa Line, you can see the station name sign, and there is the word "Takaramachi" there. That's right. Question 65 of today's certification test was a question of asking the origin of Takaramachi as the old town name.

[About Takaramachi] (From Text p. 185)

The name of the town from 1931 (1931) to 1977 (1977). Today, Kyobashi 1-3 chome. It is derived from the idea of Kyobashi-born politician Hikokichi Nakazawa (member of the House of Representatives, member of the Tokyo City Council), and was given a happy name. The town was a combination of towns such as Nakahashi Izumi-cho, Ogamachi, Minami Sayacho, Matsukawa-cho, Inabacho, Tokiwamachi, Yanagimachi, charcoal town, Motozaimokucho, and so on, and was up to 1-3. .

Arrived at Ningyocho Station on the Toei Asakusa Line. From the A3 Exit, walk along the main street toward Hisamatsu Police Station, turn right at the second intersection, follow Daimon Street, and cross the second road is Suehiro Street (question 37). Turn left at the intersection and follow Suehiro Street toward Hamacho River Ryokudo. Suehiro Shrine (2-25-20 Nihonbashi Ningyocho) is enshrined on your left, followed by "Hanpo Medicine Reconstruction Land" (Nihonbashihama-cho 2-9 Green Road, Question 37).

Question 37 of today's certification test was a question of the nickname of the road, connecting the Hamacho River Ryokudo, where the monument to the "Place of Rehabilitation of Chinese Medicine" is located, and Ningyocho-dori, about 300 meters. The answer is Suehiro Street, which came to Toru Kon.

[About Suehiro Shrine (Vaisravana)] (From Text p. 110)

Kura Inatama no Mikoto was designated as enshrined deity, and was once called Suehiro Inari. It is said that the company name is derived from the discovery of a fan pattern by Chukei during the restoration of shrine hall in 1675. After the relocation of Yoshihara due to the great fire of the Meiryaku era, the towns of Shinwa Izumicho, Takasagocho, Sumiyoshicho, and Nanbacho that stood up in the old land of Yoshiwara (approximately the current location of Nihonbashi Ningyocho and Nihonbashitomizawacho) became shrine parishioner and have been deeply worshiped. It is known as a god who gives good luck and saves evil.

[Reconstruction of Chinese Medicine] (From Text p. 100)

In 1910 (1910), a doctor, Juro Kei Wada, who opened in this area, frugrated the cost of clothing and eating, and published his own expense of "Ikai no Tetsutsutsu". . At that time, Japan was modeled on German medicine, but this book had a major impact on the reconstruction of the extinct Chinese medicine. A stone monument honoring the feat of Juro Kei Wada is located on the promenade of Hamacho 2-chome.

Entered "Hamacho Yabusoba"!

Entered "Hamacho Yabusoba"! The 17th Chuo-ku Tourism Certification
~ February 1st One Day of New River (in search of blissful time) ~

Today's “reward lunch” is here and there, “Hamacho Yabusoba”.

It is a long-established soba restaurant founded in 1904 (1904) from "Kanda Yabu Soba" by Japanese shop curtain.

Speaking of "Kanda Yabu soba", it is the head family of Yabu soba founded in 1880 (1880), and its relatives (has a blood relationship), "Namiki Yabu Soba" (established in 1913) and "Ike no Hatabu Soba" (1954) and 2016 (In total) 2016 (In 2016)

Hamacho Yabu Soba, along with Ueno Yabu Soba (founded in 1892) (founded in 1892)), the disciples of the founder of Kanda Yabu Soba (Shichibei Hotta) opened in Japanese shop curtain.

Mr. Shotaro Ikenami wrote in a taste essay "I want to eat something during a walk" (Heibonsha in 1977, Shinchosha in 1981), which wrote down the taste of the shop I found during the walk. It seems that "Hamacho Yabu Soba" was enjoyed at the time of the Meijiza performance. Since Meijiza is near, if you're lucky, you may be able to meet a celebrity.

"Yabu Soba", "Sarashina Soba" and "Sandba Soba" are said to be "Edo Three Great Soba" and "Soba Three Family".

※Yabu Soba is named headwater Tsutaya, which was built in Nezu Dangozaka (now Sendagi, Bunkyo-ku) at the end of the Tokugawa period. And it is said that the name of "Yabu soba" came from the fact that this Dangozaka shop was located in a place called Yabushita, and the signboard of "Tsutaya" was later passed down to "Kanda Yabu soba". Was.

Start in front of soba with "Itawasa" and sake!

First of all, moisturize the thirst with beer, and start with soba with "itawasa" and sake.

Put a thick and prepriply Kamaboko (Suzuhiro) on wasabi soy sauce, and use hot sake (Kikumasamune)! It's an irresistible moment (blissful time)! It's no exaggeration to say that the exam study from New Year and today's exam worked hard to taste this moment! I would like to make today's lunch a reward for myself (^^) /

Next is "Tenuki"

Next is "Tenuki" 17th Chuo-ku Tourism Certification
~ February 1st One Day of New River (in search of blissful time) ~

In front of the soba, the next knob is "Tenuki".

"Tenuki" is an abbreviation of "Tempura Soba Nuki" and is a type of Edokko word.

In the late Edo period, when drinking sake while eating tempura soba at a soba restaurant, soba noodles grow with kake soup, so this idea was born, and it seems that it became established as a "play of smart people".

Well, I've been brought. There are two shrimp heavens floating on the dark eyebrows. Of course, it doesn't contain soba. First of all, let's take a bite. It is good to say that the balance between saltiness and sweetness is exquisite, and I felt a multi-layered taste along with the flavor of yuzu and trefoil (here hot and hot sake additional order).

And I'll have shrimp heaven. Depending on the store, there may be some places of Kakiage heaven, but this is a shrimp heaven type. Since the clothes were fried like a fritter, the clothes did not separate from the shrimp, and the shrimp heaven soaked with soup was delicious until the end. In addition, there was one kamaboko lurking under the shrimp heavens.

By the way, in addition to "Tennuki", the menu also had "Duck Nuki" (scheduled for the next challenge).

And tighten it with "Seiro"!

And tighten it with "Seiro"! The 17th Chuo-ku Tourism Certification
~ February 1st One Day of New River (in search of blissful time) ~

And the tightening is still "Seiro"!

The soba of "Seiro" that has been brought is whitish and thin and elegant. It seems that they use domestic buckwheat flour and beat it at a ratio of eight buckwheat flour and two bridgings. Of course, there is a firm body, the throat is good, and it seems that you can go as much as you want.

The soba soup is darker than the "Tenuki" soup earlier, but the impression of the rich umami spread in the mouth was stronger than the saltiness, which is said to be the characteristic of Yabu soba.

The soba hot water served at the same time as the soba was in an old tub with the word "Yuto", and it was a smooth taste without thickness.

Above) "Shirowabisuke" displayed in the store. "White Wabisuke" is a kind of camellia and is said to be a very popular flower as a tea ceremony flower. There were other wonderful fresh flowers in the store.

Below) Similarly, the amount of "Yabu Mutsumikai" in the store (a group of goodwill formed around "Kanda Yabu soba" where the signboard of "Tsutaya" was inherited). "Hamacho Yabu Soba" was written next to "Kanda Yabu Soba" on the far right.

[About soba] (Excerpt from Text p. 167)

・In the article of 1614 (1614) of "Jijin Diary" written by Jisho, a shrine priest at Taga-jinja Shrine in Oomi (now Shiga Prefecture), Jomyoji Temple in Edo It is said that the buckwheat was cut (the original ancestor of the buckwheat that was cut and boiled).

・In Edo, it is said that in 1664 (1664), Kendon Udon and Soba Cutting was created in the essay "Old Story" written by Zaitsu Tanesou. In addition, night stalls, nicknamed "Yotaka soba" (Yotaka soba), also flourished.

・With the spread of soba noodles, the number of specialized shops increased, and the techniques of soba noodles were also devised and improved, and the name of soba noodles spread to advanced classes. Some shops also serve izakayas and one-table rice along with soba, and it is said that at its peak, nearly 4,000 soba shops lined up in Edo City.
