2025 "Edo Sakura-dori St." is dyed in spring colors and has a gorgeous history.


Approximately 80 Yoshino cherry tree trees planted on the Edo Sakura-dori St., which is about 500 meters long, are full of spring colors. In 2005, the Kabuki "Sukeroku Yuen Edo Sakura" was nicknamed "Edo Sakura-dori St." "A stone monument is installed. Hiroshige Utagawa's "Hundred Views of Edo Monogatari", depicting the western area of Chuo-dori, overlooks Mount Fuji, and on both sides of the street, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi and Echigoya Kimono Store, the predecessor of the Mitsui Main Building, are lined up neatly, and many people come and go, tell the prosperity of Edo Nihonbashi in the past. Today, along the streets are lined with buildings from the Meiji, Taisho era, Showa, Heisei and Reiwa eras, including the massive Historic buildings, the main building of the Bank of Japan, the Mitsui Main Building, and the Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store, which are nationally designated important cultural properties. This area has been designated as a "Streetscape Landscape Priority Area", and the creation of an integrated cityscape landscape is being promoted based on the independence of the region. In the Nihonbashi area, "SAKURA FES NIHONBASHI 2025" is being held from March 19th to April 6th, and the entire city is dyed cherry blossoms and gorgeous. Chuo-dori street light flags, large commercial facilities swaying gracefully in the wind, "Sakura Japanese shop curtain" in Fukutoku no Mori, "Sakura Japanese lantern" in Coredo Muromachi Terrace Orone Square to excite the festival, fantastic "Sakura Light Up" in large commercial facilities, gourmet food and goods with the theme of cherry blossoms.
