[Participation Report] A fun river cruise to the foot of the Tokyo Sky Tree ♪ "Nihonbashi Fukufuku Ship"

As mentioned in the article dated December 20, 2021, the Nihonbashi area is currently holding the "Nihonbashi Fukufuku Tour".

The previous article by Mr. Tokyo Dumbo is here and there.

There are special events such as "Fukufuku stamp rally", "Tour Cruise & Guided Tour", "Free Shuttle Bus" and "Accommodation" so that you can stroll while enjoying the good luck spots.

Today, I would like to participate in the "Tour Tour & Guided Tour" and report on the time I boarded the Nihonbashi Fukufuku Ship.

"Nihonbashi Fukufuku Ship" where you can choose a flight plan

The Nihonbashi area, Sumida-ku area, and Tokyo Port area can be broadly divided into three types of operation plans for the Nipponbashi Fukufuku ship. There were many options for the tour, such as one-way or round-trip, town walks and local tours, night cruises from the evening, and the Kanda River course that always returns to Nihonbashi Pier.

I jumped out of Chuo-ku and took a round-trip tour to the Sumida-ku area where Mizumachi, Tokyo is located. Click here for the actual reservation site and tour title at that time.

Tour Title: Departure from and from Nihonbashi [Cruise & Walking] From Nihonbashi to Tokyo Sky Tree by boat! Local tour of Sumida-ku area or free walk in Tokyo Sky Tree, Tokyo Mizumachi, etc. ●Tour code: SUM1102

TABINA
is a community-based travel agency that connects the city centering on the Nihonbashi area and the waterfront.

If you choose "free walk" on this tour, you can also go to Tokyo Sky Tree Town and Asakusa on the opposite bank of Mizumachi, Tokyo. I chose "local tour" and decided to enjoy the boat trip from beginning to end. Then I'm leaving!

The start of the trip is from Nihonbashi.

The meeting place is the square of Nihonbashi Falls. Nihonbashi was replaced by the current stone bridge in 1911 (1911). "Nihonbashi Pier Sojuro Riverside" is a sightseeing dock that was set up in a waterfall square in 2011, 100 years after the bridge. The cruise started here.

Operated by cruising Tokyo Bay. It has a sales office in Nihonbashi and regularly operates shared cruises called "Nihonbashi Cruise" and "Kanda River Cruise". There are six cruise ships owned. On this day, a covered "Sesce Selenade" was arranged.

It's inside the ship. You can also go to the deck with a good view. The captain's back looks dignified, isn't it?

After leaving the Nihonbashi Pier, the ship descends the Nihonbashi River toward the Sumida River. As stated on the tour introduction page of TABINA, "Enjoy the light talk of the river guide", during the cruise, the river guide happily explained the bridge and city information seen from the ship.

This area was once a place where many ships were coming and going as Edo Minato. The medalion on the pier is designed with a sailing ship reminiscent of the past. It is unique to the river that you can see so close.

The heavy and robust Eitai Bridge. It is designated as an important cultural property of Japan. From here, there is a bridge over the Sumida River, which was undertaken by Dr. Yutaka Tanaka, who left the name of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Tanaka Award, as a reconstruction project after the Great Kanto Earthquake.

The scenery where bridges with different designs and structures appear one after another is the best highlight of the Sumida River cruise. On the way, there was also a guide to the shooting points where the elegant design Kiyosu Bridge (this is also a nationally designated important cultural property) and the Tokyo Sky Tree co-star brilliantly.

Sumida River Bridge on the Sobu Line

This is a railway bridge that you can't walk across. It was fresh to see the yellow train that I always had on from this angle. Dr. Yutaka Tanaka is a great civil engineering man in the bridge field, but he was originally a railway engineer.

If you come to this point, the left bank is Sumida-ku and the right bank is Taito-ku. From the Sumida River Terrace and the Metropolitan Expressway, you can see the Ryogoku Kokugikan and the Edo Tokyo Museum, and the atmosphere is different from the waterfront area of Chuo-ku, where you can see Eitai Bridge. And in this area, there was also a photo spot for the Tokyo Sky Tree. On this day, we were able to secure enough shooting time.

After reading the discount prerequisites, I also answered the questionnaire.

The tour will be dissolved here. It was divided into those who enjoy "free walk" and those who remain on the boat. I will remain on the ship for a "local tour", but I will land in Sumida-ku for a while because there is a break time before the start time!

Under the elevated Tobu Railway connecting Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree Town, it is a complex commercial facility with hot restaurants and hostels.

You can buy coffee and snacks at the cooperating store of this tour, and tour participants can take a restroom break (the toilet is also on the cruise ship). I would like to visit another opportunity slowly.

The "local tour" took 45 minutes and passed under the "Sumida River Walk", which opened in 2020, and I was able to see some of the bridges over the Sumida River again with a different commentary than before. After that, on the return trip, I will pass the same bridge again, but after listening to the commentary, I feel that my eyes to see my bridge were nourished.

For those who live in Tokyo, getting on a cruise ship in a city they are usually used to may be a bit luxurious play, but the time to leave everyday life and relax and enjoy the changing scenery while swaying by the boat It was more fulfilling than the time I actually spent. In particular, I was deeply impressed by the fact that I was able to appreciate the difference in expression of each bridge over the Sumida River, which is called the "bridge museum" with commentary.

is until January 31, 2022. The end of the period is imminent, but even after the operation as a Nihonbashi Fukufuku Ship has been completed, cruises starting and stopping at Takino Square are scheduled from time to time. The Sumida-ku area is said to be very popular especially when the cherry blossoms bloom. We recommend walking around Tokyo on the waterfront starting from Nihonbashi, and the coming season.
