I went to Roaji on the 7th floor of PUZZLE GINZA, a building directly connected to Exit 5 of Ginza 1-chome Station.

Ogura Anji is a creative Japanese restaurant in Imari City, Saga Prefecture. Outside of Saga Prefecture, there is a branch in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and here in Ginza. I was interested because I liked Saga Prefecture, which I visited on a trip before, and because it is located in puzzle Ginza, where meat restaurants with different concepts on each floor gather. At Ogura Anji, which offers ingredients from Saga Prefecture in various styles, you can have Imari beef meat.

What kind of place is Kanda?

Imari City, known for its ceramics Imari ware, is located in the western part of Saga Prefecture, on the prefectural border with Nagasaki Prefecture. It is impressive that beautiful Imari ware objects were displayed everywhere in the city.

Imari Station

The station building at Imari Station is designed to imitate the white wall of a pottery merchant and the chimney of a baked kiln.

Statue of Imari Colored Women

The colored statue of a woman standing at the entrance of Imari Station Shopping Street catches your eye. "Welcome to Imari," Imari beef welcomes you.

Imaritsu Karakuri Clock "Marion"

The Karakuri clock hung on the wall of the Imari Branch of the Saga Bank used to be called Imari Tsu, and tells the liveliness of the era when it flourished as a port for loading ceramics.

Mosaic tiles from Imarizu

There was a mosaic tile depicting Imarizu on the banks of the Imari River, which flows through the central part of Imari City. You can see that the white-walled merchants, modeled at Imari Station, lined up along the river, and that the Imari River is a transportation route for ceramics.

Imari Colored Erokaku Sansuibun Large Pot / Imari Colored Chrysanthemum Plum Bunbo (Candlead stand)

The Aioi Bridge over the Imari River has a replica of furnishings decorated according to Western life, indicating that Imari ware was prized in Western Europe. The balustrade of the bridge was fitted with a ceramic plate depicting a Dutch ship that was responsible for export.

Imari ware was actively exported from this area to Western Europe via Nagasaki in the mid-1600s. It is called "Imari" and is still popular with fans all over the world.

I've previously watched a wonderful collection of Orient ceramics in Dresden, Germany. I would like to return to Imari one day, along with Arita City, where Arida Pocerin Park, which reproduces the Tuvinger Palace, is located.

To Imari "Oguraanji" in Ginza, Tokyo

I came to Oguraanji Tokyo Ginza store. The inside of the store has a calm atmosphere.

It seems that there is a pendant light of Imari ware in the private room facing Ginza Yanagi-dori St. Ogura-anji, where the word "Japanese-Western eclectic" is perfect for both interior and menu, seemed to breathe the sensitivity of Imari, who had interacted with the Western world through Imari ware during the isolation period.

Imari beef steak

Among the finest Japanese black beef, Saga beef produced in Imari City, Saga Prefecture is called Imari beef. I thought it was similar to the fact that Arita porcelain loaded from Imarizu was called Imari ware. I feel the charm of Imari's brand.


Ginshari and miso soup that can be replaced here are served. Rice is brand rice from Saga Prefecture. The miso soup was made from wheat miso, which is familiar in the Kyushu region. If you use wheat miso, it will have a sweet finish. If rice and miso soup are from the ground, you really feel like you are visiting the land.

Caramel mousse

On a time-limited trip, you may not be able to visit local restaurants. In such a case, you can fulfill that thought in Chuo-ku, where famous stores nationwide have branches. There are not many shops where you can taste Imari beef in Tokyo, but I was very happy to be able to meet Imari's food in Ginza while following the memories of my trip this time.


On this day, there were people at other tables who surrounded the taste table where you can enjoy monthly dishes. You can order Imari beef steaks and hamburgers according to your preference. Next time, I would like to try the seafood and taste table.
