[Nihonbashiodenmacho] Let's meet in Betara City
Edoya, a specialty store for brushes and brushes
This year was the hottest summer ever.
I was excited about when it would cool down, but still autumn came, and the cold winter came after that.
This month, which is finally coming to fall, I would like to talk about some tools that will often come out for winter and the traditions of this season.
To care for winter items
I can't let go of mufflers and knee hooks in winter. Above all, you can take care of cashmere products with good texture and warm texture.
The reason why cashmere feels warmer than other woolen fabrics is that thin fibers create more layers of air, which increases the heat retention effect. The fact that the fibers are thin means that the tools for care should be separated from other things.
This is a dress brush for delicate fabrics.
Clothes Brush (for delicate fabric) No.103
The wooden handle is written as "for cashmere". The brush part is very soft and delicate, and I feel like I will treat it naturally carefully. Because it is for delicate fabrics, those who regularly use silk or other textile products, please use it only in winter.
Due to the unique planting method of two-stage hair planting, it does not damage the fabric even if used with effort.
There were also two types of clothes brushes: "for solid fabric (for wool only)" and "all-purpose type" that can be used regardless of fabric. Each item has a different shape of the handle or a portable size.
About Edoya
I got this clothes brush at Edoya in Nihonbashiodenmacho. Founded in 1718 (1718), it is a long-established Edo brush with a history of more than 300 years. Currently, we handle a variety of brushes and brushes from industrial to personal use. Natural hair toothbrush is a popular product that is often talked about in correspondent neighborhoods.
Edoya, a registered Tangible Cultural Property store
The building was from the Taisho era after the Great Kanto Earthquake, and was registered in the Tangible Cultural Property of the country. In the Chuo-ku Tourism Test, questions were asked by looking at photos and answering them.
It is also open to the public as one of the Chuo-ku Machikado Exhibition Hall, "Edoya Collection Brush Exhibition Hall".
Betara City has a chance to buy
Bettara City is held on October 19 and 20 every year around Takarada Keihisa Shrine, right next to Edoya.
Takarada Ebisu Shrine (Takarada Ebisujinja)
Bettara City is an autumn tradition that has been around since the Edo period, with stalls selling Bettara pickles. What surprised me when I visited for the first time was its size. The number of 500 stalls is one of the largest in the city center. There are many shops besides pickles, and it's fun to walk from end to end.
Pickle
※The website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is used.
Betta pickles are pickles made by soaking radish pickled with salt with rice koji and sugar, and it is said that the 15th Shogun Yoshinobu Tokugawa also liked it. You can see that it was widely known in Edo.
It's only after the sun goes down. The sale of pickled pickles in happi coat under the illuminated lanterns seemed to be the same as the Edo period Betara city, which is now heard.
From Sugimori Shrine (Suginomori Jinja) area (Nihonbashi Horidomecho 1-chome)
During the period of Bettara City, Edoya is also open until night, and the price is "Bettara City Special Price". Please go to Edoya and Bettara City on this occasion, which will be a bargain more than usual.
