"Currently, the Hakutsuru Ginza Tenku Farm project is operated by members of the Tokyo Branch Sales Support Group, seven women, and one man in parallel with daily operations such as general affairs and sales affairs.

In 2023, as a first attempt, we carried out rice planting, which was usually conducted in mid-June, a little earlier in order to make the most of the sunshine hours on rice.

Since the rainy season in mid-June, there has not been much rain, there have been almost no cold days such as `` rainy season '', and the days like summer continued, so the rice that was exposed to the sun a lot Has grown steadily.

During the month, the stems gradually increased, and the density increased, and the growth was seen every day.

In July, the day of the record-breaking hot days continued, and the sun became more and more tighter.

The evaporation of water was fast, and I was very careful about managing the amount of water.

The height was growing steadily, with the height of 60cm to 80cm, but even in August, the effects of the intense heat continued, and I felt that the growth pace was slightly slower.

It was not easy both physically and mentally, such as daily patrols of rice fields while bathing in the stabbing sunshine, management of water, generation of weeds and algae, but at the end of August, heading (Shussui) After checking, I felt that my feelings were tight again.

In September, we were worried about unstable weather such as guerrilla downpours and the approach of typhoons, but we were able to finish the harvest safely without any damage.

It is about finding it early and taking countermeasures as soon as possible.

ー Do you have the "shield bug" now?

ーThere was a time when rice should not grow too much, right?

When the rice grows up, if there is a lot of fertilizer necessary, the leaves will be increased without fruiting, so if the fertilizer is not cut once, the flowers will not be nutritious.

The color of the leaves is "measured", and how much nitrogen has been reduced, it gradually turns yellow, but while watching it, fertilizer is given.

I have to give it when it turns yellow, but I can't give it too much.

ーWhen will you do that work?

It is topdressing once every July.

Then drain the water once before August, dry it in the middle, and then topdress it once again.

Then, if you add water again and grow it, you will go out on August 25.
